Early spring and joy
So today something different, so to speak. I'm already impressed, now it's my mother's turn... or is it me? We'll see in the course of testing. One thing is certain: the scent is different, there are white flowers, spring fever and lots of good vibes. Rays of sunshine on the skin, packaged as an expensive perfume oil, which is not only supposed to put you in a good mood and then does, but is also reserved by many women who visit Henry Jacques as a fragrance for their wedding and is only worn on this special day in their lives - as an anchor for the most beautiful memories, so to speak. And this sentence really says it all.
Dorilene by Henry Jacques is a beautiful, light, friendly floral fragrance with a clear focus on white flowers. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's definitely mine, and even if it's certainly not easy to wear such a fragrance as a man, you can still find it incredibly beautiful and special, and perhaps keep it in the back of your mind for your dream woman - just like the others do.
After application, ylang ylang and lily of the valley immediately get down to business and open up a cheerful, friendly and sunny opening, and spring fever is not long in coming. It's warm, but somehow not quite right yet. It's also slightly chilly, especially due to the wind and the intermittent periods of rain. The grass is green, the flowers are blooming. The winter depression has been completely forgotten, life is blossoming again, people are going out again, everything is alive, young and beautiful. Rose, lily and jasmine are not long in coming, iris is holding back, which as a little iris hater I can only welcome. Flowers from all directions, mixed by the gust of wind that blows through from time to time and mixes the aromas in such a way that you can hardly tell them apart. Only one thing is clear: it smells good, friendly, beautiful, lively. Floral, but not excessively so. Airy, slightly fresh, but not citrusy. Instead, it is simply pleasant. The jasmine remains virtually from beginning to end, and the rose can also be detected for a relatively long time. Ylang ylang shines through from time to time, it doesn't really want to say goodbye - fortunately, because it is beautiful! Fortunately, the journey lasts a really long time, this fragrance just doesn't want to go, and neither do I.
Dorilene by Henry Jacques doesn't smell like the most special fragrance in the genre. Instead, it scores with a truly dreamlike composition that is absolutely perfectly balanced - both in terms of sillage and longevity, as well as in the fragrance itself. The notes are so well balanced that you can hardly identify them. There is a certain complexity, but at the same time it smells so simple and just... friendly. The main thing with this fragrance is the feeling you get when you wear it. The feeling of being happy. The feeling of being alive, the feeling of joy and the sun's rays on your skin. The feeling of a young, friendly fragrance that just won't let go and that you simply can't get enough of, even as the wearer or the person standing next to you. And although I always dismiss floral fragrances as boring, dull or just okay and don't bother with them to make more room for strong ouds, leather and musk, this fragrance definitely deserves more attention and I would love to just buy it for myself so that I can enjoy it quietly and secretly in my home without having to give up my little male ego in the real world and smell jasmine and ylang ylang in the subway with my dark jacket and my slightly annoyed look. Well,
Performance, packaging and service are typical of HJ - simply great. I have been raving about the service at Henry Jacques for a long time, the bottles also look beautiful, only the price is painful as always, especially if it only makes it into the fragrance collection for the home. For a wedding fragrance or another special day, it's really great and perhaps even worth the really expensive price tag. For me? Not at the moment, it's probably time for the wedding.
