My good mood fragrance
I love neroli and was therefore looking for the "purest" neroli fragrance possible. I was recommended Eau de Néroli Doré by Hermès.
Unfortunately, this was one of my first forays into the perfume world and I had no idea about anything. So I let the ladies in turquoise convince me to buy this, not exactly inexpensive, fragrance. Now I read here in the reviews "If you love neroli, you can get a good, much cheaper eau de cologne with neroli" (Friederike11). Well... You're always smarter afterwards.

I really like the scent... even if it always makes me think of old ladies.

I also like to use the summery fragrance in the colder seasons when the winter blues catch up with me. The fragrance simply puts me in a good mood and makes me feel the warmth of the sun.

Where desire and reality drift apart
Today he arrived, I ordered the EDC Neroli Doré simply times blind on the basis of the evaluations. What can I say, as soon as I had the package in my hands, I had to tear it open and taste the delicious golden Necktar. Sprung up and waited for the Zing... hmm maintained and serviced
Where is the spark that tells me, "I will bathe in it, I will seduce you, I will ensnare you, I will take you all for myself"? The scent doesn't ignite (yet), I don't know why... maybe I had expected too much, Neroli Portofino is for me a benchmark that (certainly also pricewise) wants to be reached, this olfactory over-scented is for me the benchmark how the little Neroli must smell, fruity, lively, freshly stinging a fragrance that a fireworks explodes by its freshness in the nose. All this is missing; there is not even a 08/15 fireworks rocket from the discounter ignited, well it does not always have to, even a sparkler can be something very beautiful, unfortunately, it is not even enough for this comparison. Neroli yes there is also the saffron is unmistakable, I can perceive it, but everything in such a reserved tone that you might think it is a splash and not a cologne. Sprayed on and there for five minutes and away again. I'm disappointed what the house Hermes delivers here, I know "Un Jadin sur le Nil" and "Le Jardin de Monsieur Li" which can convince with freshness and effervescence, but Noroli Doré simply lacks everything. But this is only my first impression, so I still give this fragrance a chance to please me. I know a lot of fragrances got a bad rating on the first contact, but then at the third fourth spray they still ignited. I'll report!

socially acceptable
One does not always sit alone in one's hermitage, or stay in a secluded room with one's loved one - but life drives one out into the public - with close social intercourse.

You have to share a cubic metre of air with strangers, be it in the public transport, in the airplane, in the cinema or in the theatre - everywhere you have forced, often intimate physical contact, which does not please everyone involved.
And not every one of these chance acquaintances is fragrant.
It's important to heed that.

It counts: What you don't want people to do to you, don't do to anyone else.
Or alternatively : never torture a gun - because it can be loaded.

In order to avoid these unfortunate situations, I use socially acceptable scents outdoors.
And that includes Neroli Dore.

The Neroli, refined with saffron cools ME, but leaves other noses undisturbed, because it is transparent and stays very close.
If some scent molecules get lost in the outside world, they are tolerable.
I have an awake - fresh feeling - and that has to do.

If I discover the man of my dreams in line 6, I fall back on the good old look of my eyes, or make myself otherwise as noticeable - perhaps with a strong cough ?

But the dream men apparently all drive with the line 10.

For an established luxury goods producer, the trick to remaining relevant is to promise both the past and the future. The authenticity of heritage and a bright future of previously unimaginable luxury. This two-step is nothing new for Hermès. Their products are exceptional specimens of craft, but their true artistry lies in manipulating perception.

The brand’s Eau de Cologne series shares the standard Hermès bottle with the Hermessence perfumes but come in in bright, lollipop colors, a carefree alternative to the austere pastels of the Hermessence line. They are ‘note-driven’, just like the Hermessence line. (Grapefruit, narcissus, rhubarb for the colognes versus osmanthus, massoïa and paprika for the high-end.) They are effectively a ‘mini-Hermessence’ line.

Hermès tend very carefully to the symbolism of their products. The language surrounding the products might seem nonchalant but the meaning is specific and the intention is unmistakable. When Hermès launch a product, nothing is left to chance. From images of the product to the text describing it to press events, every detail is deliberate. Hermès know how to manipulate the echo chamber effect of the fashion world with an almost scientific precision. Whisper the stories in just the right places and through unquestioning repetition, they become legend.

The concept of Eau de Néroli Doré is not a new one. This strategy, Finery At All Costs, is an unsubtle one in the first place but Hermès have pulled out all the stops. Their claim of using one half of Tunisia and Morocco’s annual neroli production is an undisguised demonstration of both power and crassness. Hermès are apparently capable of putting the northern portion of a continent on hold in order to suit their product design. (And in doing so, hand you a flawless example of post colonial arrogance wrapped up with a bow.)

No theater works without an audience and here Hermès rely on the privilege that they foster in their consumers. Part one of the strategy is the scale of the act: A multinational claim on a material. Part two is the intent, which is to invite its customers to relish the frivolousness. International economies are bent to your whim. So what that an equally good eau de cologne could have been made with less sensationally-sourced, inexpensive materials? You deserve finery at all costs.

Hermès’s sentimental account of a young Jean-Claude Ellena’s learning to distill orange blossom is an attempt to give Eau de Néroli Doré a sincerity, a human scale. In classic cake-and-eat-it-too fashion, Hermès want to alter the economy of nations, but they also want to project a wide-eyed artisanal purity. For all the spin surrounding Eau de Néroli Doré, it can’t beat the perfume truism that any cologne is pretty much as good as any other cologne. It has an olfactory ‘aftertaste’ that undermines the touted neroli. It smells briefly aromatherapeutic and then like a bottle of cologne smashed on sidewalk cement.

Mature, fresh and skin tight. Pleasant, but there are lots of options in the genre so it’s expensive for what you get.
