A Weekend Festival's True Atmosphere
How I came across Hollister fragrances, I have already fully described them in the Festival Party for Him review, so I would immediately analyze Festival Vibes without too many preambles. The official Interparfums Inc. website claims Festival Vibes as an aromatic fougère. Indeed, I catch a few more facets that I would try to describe in the following, such as soapy, green, mossy, and leathery.

Again, Festival Vibes begins with a blast of alcohol, very strong and in the face, similar to the Festival Party. So, be aware and wait a moment before smelling it. Then, luckily, a pleasant musky and soapy aroma make its way between all that lot of alcohol that evaporates quickly. I like these aqueous and clean chords, which give the fragrance light and carefree feel, the scents we associate with the out-of-the-shower sensation. The birch leaves give the leathery, sharp, musky, and earthy nuances, while the ozone-like accord gives that net feeling. An acidic fruity nuance joins to complete the opening, which I recognize as the pulp of unripe pineapple fruit, not overly sweet. The initial phase is very pleasant, something already known and not disruptive, pineapple that intertwines with sea air, however pleasant and captivating for the mass.

Soon, the initial dewy freshness takes a spicier and more leafy direction. The heart beats with the aromatic laurel leaves and cannabis, resulting in a slightly herbaceous. Ginger root is pungent but subdued, non-dominant, contrasting with the green herb accord. I find it rather difficult to recognize the woody notes that should characterize the central scene, which is rich in green and wet foliage.

And then comes the bottom, which is much more earthy, a riot of animalic, musky, and warm accords. The initial earthiness and moss are enhanced thanks to synthetic oak moss and ambergris. The latter adds a kind of saltiness to the mixture without entering too much into the marine or oceanic territory. The base features a handful of baked tonka beans for sweetness lovers, with a great dose of coumarin that softens the base and adds plenty of creaminess with a caramel-like tinge.

Of the three items in the Hollister Festival series, this is the coolest and most aquatic, perfectly suited for a summer day and prime time moment. In the end, if that's your thing, I suggest you wear #festival nite for a night out. For my taste, I find it light enough to be worn in my free time and also at work, not offensive or demanding. I get a decent performance, medium longevity, and moderate sillage on my skin. If I had to match the scent, I'd put it on the same playing field as Life, L'Eau pour Homme Eau de Toilette or even Dunhill Fresh Eau de Toilette, all with a fresh but non-citrusy opening on a final ambergris-oakmoss-tonka in trio. I like to remember that the three perfumes are not flanker of each other, and each perfume has a distinct aroma from the others.

I base the review on a 50ml bottle I have owned since August 2022.

Violent fruit aquatics !
As a fan of fresh summer scents, the bottle in the Surfin-USA style immediately appealed to me: "Hey, that might be a good stuff, just try it".

And I did it ...

But what's that? Right at the beginning there's a good sip from the ocean. Or was that ozone? Anyway, I didn't expect so much of it. Because what is sloshed over is in any case synthetic, artificial, artificial, and indeed violent - only paired with a fruit, nothing else. However, if this is supposed to be the pineapple, ( more ;-) doubts about the land of unlimited possibilities are appropriate ...

Well, hope dies last, or is there something coming? Of course, even more ozone aquatics, which now make up approx. 80% of the fragrance, until after approx. 3/4 hours a bit more fruitiness finally prevails again. It's a bit more pleasing now, but still smells more like a shallow fruit salad than a tangy pineapple (which I would have liked).

At least this mix is somehow unusual, but is that enough? No, because unfortunately the all dominating sea breeze could not elicit an enthusiastic "Aaaa..." and "Ooo..." from me, which could stand for "Aqua & Ozon", but only an amazement at so much imbalance.

Where's the ginger, the bay leaf, the tonka bean? In vain ... instead of just oakmoss, but only in the pyramid - served on imaginary cannabis, and the whole thing served on a huge Atlantic wave. Reminds me of the 90s, only today they try to enrich the oceanic scents with more sweetness, fruit or even spice. With this one it seems to be the "pineapple", and a little amber can also be heard. All in all this brew looks much too synthetic to me, and with a slight overspray it is a bit stuffy and annoying because of all its aqua dominance ...

Conclusion: this Hollister doesn't know anything about crackling, he simply doesn't prickle, he only makes an effort - for about 6 hours, as a fruity-sweetly stiff breeze, monosyllabic, aquatic, linear. Nevertheless a tip: maybe this Ami is something for Nautica Voyage fans with a tendency to

violent fruit aquatics ?!

Fresh, moist marijuana leaves with ozonic and salty notes. The greenness is huge. Blatantly similar to Invictus, but overall it's excellent.
