Blech!! Jasmine Adulterated!

This will not be a long review.

Upon trying this fragrance today my nose was assaulted by a chemical soup in which some bright spark thought it would be rather grand to make jasmine flavored vanilla ice cream and serve it in a freshly carved wooden bowl. YUCK!!
I very seldom react this way to fragrances, loving the art form of perfumery as much as I do. There is, however, a limit as to what I would shell money out for … and I find it completely shattered by Boss: The Collection - Silk Jasmine.
As a costume designer, I was intrigued by the combination of fabric and fragrance … until I smelled this. Vanilla and silk have nothing to do with each other … freshly spun silk smells raw and sexy, not smooth and sweet, which this chemfest fails dismally at anyway!

Avoid at all costs!!

This is a WONDERFUL fragrance.

Silk & Jasmine is part of an exclusive line of fragrances that are available only through Nordstrom's, Harrod's or the Hugo Boss website itself. There are five fragrances in this line, which is named "Hugo Boss: The Collection".

The five fragrances are: Velvet & Amber, Wool & Musk, Cotton Verbena, Cashmere Patchouli and of course, Silk & Jasmine.

Silk & Jasmine is fresh and sweet with a very light powdery scent. The honey and vanilla are blended together beautifully, creating a smooth finish.

It's classy and perfect with anything, anywhere. I'd consider this an excellent scent for the office, since you can spray it on yourself several times and not worry about it being overwhelming, because it's light and stays closer to the skin.

Sillage and longevity are average, so expect to get 4-6 hours out of an application.

Even though it's considered a men's fragrance, it's easily unisex and no doubt would smell wonderful on a woman as well.

The only downside is the price. At $140 for a 50 ml bottle, it's quite expensive and difficult to find. The Nordstrom's location close to my house didn't have samples or bottles available. I had to go through customer service, who transferred me to a store in California where they did have samples. The fragrance counter manager was kind enough to send them to me and in the end, I placed my order through him, so his counter could get the credit for the sale.
