A refreshing taste of citrus
I've owned many Hugo Boss fragrances over the years just because majority of the releases from this house are safe buys. I felt the need to review this one mainly due to the refreshingly different surprise I got when I smelt it. I can almost taste the opening burst of refreshing citrus. It reminds me of a fizzy orange/lemon soda (in a good way of course). The dry down is a pleasant woody note which also retains the citric freshness as well. The downside is longevity and projection but I certainly don't mind having my bottle on hand all day.

The one
From some very specific perspective: its the percect fragance.

what if somebody in their 20’ or 30’s just want to pick an unoffensive fragance and use it all day, all season from beach to office? Probably pick the wrong one, because the whole youtube recommends the Sauvage for this, but well, its not a valid pick if you want an unoffensive one, because the sillage is more than a mile.

Okay, okay, than why this, soo musch similar fragrances out there!
Well, if someone want a safe one with 100% acceptance in office and a short-ranged longetivity to not frustrate your colleagues, wou can pick the YSL L’Homme (but it has a goodguy vibe), or the Montblanc Legend Spirit (But its a little sweet and bubblegum style) or the Prada L’homme (but its a much more professional vibe)
And what if you just want the fress citric smell in the sunshine and a woody smell at the night/winter? Well, than you are in the right place.

The Reversed is really simple yet wonderfully complex. Simple, because your smell is a fresh-citric-grapefruity if the weather is hot, and the drydown its a grapefruity-woody fresh dream. If its cold, the whole fragrance is different: after 20mins, you have no grapefruit, just a little freshness, but you have the woods. Everybody like it when you wear it.
Happily(for me) its sillage is really bad, you can smell it from not more than 20 cm, but its the reason why you can use it everywhere without every situation: When someone come closer, the smell is enough. When you walk somewhere, you are not terrorize people with 1-2 m sillage.
The longetivity is tricky: you not feel it everytime when its there, but its there for a good 6 hours.

This one has a great scent...
... It’s just that the longevity is VERY lackluster. The grapefruit note holds steadily throughout the life of a pretty solid, masculine scent, but unfortunately the scent only survives on my skin for barely 4 hours, and that’d be on a good day. The projection is moderate throughout the lifespan; barely giving a 2ft radius, and the sillage is somewhat light as well, becoming a skin scent within an hour and a half or so. I really enjoy the scent itself, it’s just that the short performance has me uneasy about purchasing it. The fact that it is indeed very inexpensive has me on the borderline of grabbing it; it is that good of a scent. I just can’t decide whether or not there’s room for a 4 hour performer in my collection

Refreshingly different
I've had this one for a few months. Now after some tests a comment. Boss is more of a gray mouse when it comes to scents in the last years. In my opinion most of the Boss fragrances are in the solid midfield. They don't really rub off and they don't really stay in your memory with the big wow-effect. This one is one of the better ones for me. It has a special DNA that is really interesting.
I don't know if it should be a Hugo Flanker. The lid of the classic suggests it. Possibly even just an attempt to succeed with the old concept. There is no real similarity to the classic from the 90s. The Reversed series is mirror-inverted and also represented in the fashion world. I own some of the items in this series. It's cool to get something different and also in the offer already cheap.

The bottle comes in beautiful white, which usually stands for clean fresh scents. It's a bit of a match here, although it does have a nice juicy, spicy note.
The scent pyramid is rather small and looks rather boring and ordinary. Whether it is so complete I dare to doubt. It seems more saturated somehow. Maybe it's because of the molecule pamplewood, which combines woody- citric elements. The grapefruit is in the foreground especially at the start. Juicy-citric-fruity paired with beautiful bergamot. Very energetic and modern. Grapefruit mountain moth sounds boring and ordinary, but here with a very unique DNA. In addition there is a nice pleasant but subtle spice. According to Pyramid Rosemary. The dry-down is then woody fresh and pleasant.
All in all a great fragrance that stands out from the usual citric scents and attracts positive attention. Should definitely be tested if you are looking for an inexpensive fresh scent. 125ml are already available for about 30 Euro. In my opinion it is a fragrance for the whole year. Reads like a summer scent, but I would not wear it in hot temperatures. I recently wore it during sports around 20 degrees and rain, where it worked well. Top for everyday life, leisure and sports activities. For job maybe too little durability, if you want to smell it all day without spraying.
Performance is fine. Lasts a few hours. In the beginning good silage, also later on perceptible at close range. Suitable for many situations.

All in all a great fresh and citric scent with interesting DNA

It Smells Like White Clouds Over The Sea
What do Hugo Man original and Hugo Reversed have in common? Nothing, apart from the iconic shape of the flask. Reversed is not a flanker of Hugo Man. Instead, it is a scent on its own. The bottle inspired by the cans of the soldiers, this time is solid white, in a ceramic style liken M&W Tabac Original, same screw cap with a black ribbon as Hugo Man classic.

Despite the few notes contained in the olfactory pyramid, Reversed is not a linear perfume, but a scent that ranges between a citric head, an aromatic heart, and a woody and earthy base. As soon as you pop the cap and the juice comes out of the sprayer, a massive cloud of fresh citrus fruits wraps the air, the grapefruit feels bitter, pleasant, it makes you want to drink it like freshly squeezed juice. The savoury blend of bergamot and grapefruit give a beautiful effervescent citrus tone to the overture, somehow tart, tangy, and refreshing. Miserably, the top notes stay only for half an hour for my skin.

The herbal heart mingles aromatic rosemary, with slightly green and camphorous quality, and pamplewood synthetic molecule, which adds a fresh bitterness. If I smell the scent directly from the sprayer, I get a delicious taste of blood orange juice, which I surmise is coming from the pamplewood. Conversely, on my skin, the heart hides some wet and powdery facets, as if the heart notes were featuring violet leaf.

The woody base rests on the earthy breath of the vetiver and a kind of dry wood. The vetiver is indisputably detectable, yet gentle, with its smoky, warm and bitter facets of chocolate as if there were also some modern patchouli. However, it is not the vetiver we're used to, as in Guerlain or Carven for instance. For me, there is also a hint of sweetness in the base, which appears quite soon in the heart and adds a twist akin to CD Sauvage, and I won't be surprised if tonka bean or the new normal ambroxan was contributing to this. The overall base is soothing and calming, it does not scream loud.

I don't think it is all too synthetic or scratchy. It captivates the attention without being too loud while relying on the subtle blending of its few notes. Both sillage and performance are averages, more than half a day on my skin and clothes. The fragrance does not fill the room but moves when you move. Perhaps, it is targeted towards a younger audience. Still, I do like it. The incredible freshness makes Reversed suitable for warmer days, Spring and Summer seasons fit the best. It is a daily safe, polite, and casual fragrance, for leisure time as well as office, or school, why not? Reversed is definitely an excellent compliment getter, outstandingly safe and stand out crowd-pleaser.

This review is based upon a 75ml bottle I own.

Stay well; stay healthy.

Good summer scent
I have it myself and find it a really good summer scent, because of its comparatively "low strength" it is especially good to wear on hot days and gives with the strong lime note a very fresh sillage

If my son were already at the age of perfume....
I'd take Hugo Reversed home with him right now. Was my first thought when I tested it. Attracted me the plain white (white always arouses my interest) packaging.
Very clean, fresh, slightly citrus-heavy with a pleasant flavour (that must be rosemary, which I always like). The fragrance for a nice, casual, handsome youngster.

But that does not mean boring. And boring is basically only who is also boring in spirit...

For fragrance fanatics who expect great uniqueness and overwhelming fragrance developments he is certainly nothing. Vintage fans who can only get fresh scents with an extra touch of musty oak moss will dismiss it as new-fangled stuff.

For me one of the best fresh fragrances I've found in the last....

Grapefruitissimo
"Hugo Reversed" smelled for me, with a blind test without any information, first after a tangy mandarin and a loose find smell. Now, after several test days, by sun and by storm, with knowledge about the scent pyramid and Co., this impression has itself... solid. The mandarin has become more of a grapefruit, and something is lacking in the spine or the woody components, but otherwise it's finally a boss again, who can scold so much...

"Hugo Reversed" always goes down well. I found that out quickly. Great! A fragrance with open arms. Juicy, funny, sweet. Without even a second of being cheap or soggy or sticky. You'd almost want to get yourself sucked in. And so do our fellow men, apparently. It is a creamy grapefruit with slight vetiver undertones and modern-transparent woods that quickly fall silent. This is extremely simple, unspectacular and straightforward. But basically it is simply a pleasant, beautiful fragrance. Especially for the office next spring. Sunny and in a good mood at the touch of a button. Reminds me of a more sympathetic, less squeaky "sauvage."

Flacon: Hugo as usual. Only vice versa and white. Not bad. Not great either.
Sillage: not obtrusive, not super quiet
Shelf life: 5 good hours

Conclusion: Hugo finally has another hit on his hand. Very good for a lot, even if knitted quite simply. But: he is soo a crowdpleaser!

Spot landing in the mainstream !
"Excuse me, where's the mainstream?"

Well, always the nose long ;-)

"Very funny, can you be a little more specific?"

But of course, ... they start with a grapefruit that looks a little artificial and is more soft than citric, but very refreshing. Meanwhile, leave the bergamot on the left, which is not perceptible anyway. From the beginning you will be accompanied by rosemary that somehow reminds me of a mixture of predominantly ginger and a little cardamom, which is over the whole course of fragrance the essential odor, nice warm and spicy. She is constantly surrounded by a ghost called Pamplewood.

"Who's that supposed to be?"

I don't know, but it's on the map. And maybe it also contributes to this warm, slightly spicy, very pleasing scent, which you can hear all the way along, but it is not made of wood.

And so after three and a half hours a fine vetiver creeps in, which in the further course indicates more and more the direction. It is slightly citric and appears quite bright and transparent.

In total you need about 5-6 hours, on clothes it could take 1-2 hours longer.

"Man, that sounds great and I'll repeat it again: Well, basically three milestones, grapefruit, rosemary and vetiver, with the middle one being the biggest. The bergamot doesn't go with it and Pamplewood seems in spirit ... somehow clear and confusing at the same time. Can't you be a little more precise?"

OK, you're the boss, here are the coordinates:

Conclusion: You can say what you want about the Boss fragrances of recent years, this REVERSED is anything but special, but we can't just be in niches. So I consider this well balanced fresh spicy fragrance especially suitable for work and leisure. It doesn't bother anyone and seems rather pleasant and attractive at the same time. In other words, a

I'm kind of surprised for what this offers. It's nothing new, but the citruses are very authentic. Not synthetic at all. Good Citrusy Woody.
