Apples And Melons Anybody?
Under the denomination 74, there are quite a few Iceberg fragrances, and all look very similar. At least the packaging makes them easy to confuse.
Again, I got this Iceberg fragrance as a bargain buy for smallest money. I pulled it out of the bottom shelf in a chain store where it was hidden. 74 Cedar is just the right fragrance to lift up one's mood on a chilly and cloudy late winter day when there should be sun and spring.
Admittedly, the fragrance pyramid looks weird. Notes like melon, rhubarb and green apple indicate a synthetic mess. However, 74 Cedar shows us that these kind of fresh green-fruity notes need not necessarily remind everybody at washing powder and fabric softener. Also, there is no roughness as it can easily be found in this price segment. However, a little synthetic appeal cannot be denied.
It is something special to find apple and melon in a gent's cologne – and this is what 74 Cedar is all about. The result is a nice t-shirt and jeans fragrance: a slightly detectable candy-like appeal makes it inapplicable for professional environments or formal events.
The cedar in 74 Cedar lends its name but nothing more. The dry base note may have something woody in it but it is totally background and doesn't really count.
74 Cedar pour Homme is surely worth its small money – even if it may serve only as a reference for apple and melon. The fact that this can get on one's nerves after a while is being coped by Iceberg with a rather high dilution. So, let's spray!
