If you can look past the pickle opening note...
Decisions, Decisions opens with a blast of sweet jasmine and hints of incense, but mind you that is on paper...
I have tried this fragrance before, some time ago, and back then I quickly thought to myself "this is not for me". Today I was left with only a few drops left, enough for me to wear it as my scent of the day and for a test strip.

Decisions, Decisions, just like back then, has a comical resemblance to the smell of pickles on my skin at the opening notes. It is rare that fragrances perform the same on paper as they do on my skin, but Decisions, Decisions is much the same besides the strong resemblance to sour cucumbers.

I remember last time I tried it that I wasn't thrown aback like I usually am with fragrances from the house of Imaginary Authors.
Decisions, Decisions is a pleasant fragrance after dry down, the quality is great and the scent is perfectly balanced, but it lacks the Imaginary Authors pezaz!
If I owned this I would absolutely wear it; it is sweet, flavourful and perfect for autumn and winter, but I have so many other fragrances, more unique, on my wishlist that stand out more from my collection.

When all is said and done, I have been taking sneak whiffs off my wrists all day long. Decisions, Decisions has enamoured me so much that I choose to forget the initial opening note of doom. It is a perfect everyday 'don't make a scene' fragrance. The more I smell it, the more I want it!

Let's rewind. Yes, Decisions, Decisions has an opening note of pickles; not exactly what I care to smell like, but after dry down the fragrance becomes a gorgeous intoxicating labdanum, which is ever so lightly sweet. My nose does not catch on to too many white florals despite the composition, in actuality, Decisions, Decisions is quite lactonic with amber undertones.

Composed of tuberose, sarsaparilla, geranium, labdanum, jasmine sambac, raspberries and sweet suspense, I only miss the fruitiness of the raspberries in Decisions, Decisions.

Though I stand by and agree with my prior review of Decisions, Decisions before my time reviewing fragrances on here, I have completely changed my regard for it.
I absolutely adore it for what it is and would love to add it to my collection.
Who would have thought that I would ever love a fragrance that smells like pickles... Not me.

A day on troubled ground
Of the fragrances of the house, this is for the first time one that comes across really strong. And multidimensional.
On paper, I still thought that something can not be right. Woody, resinous, creaky and deep the fragrance came along. The color is also incredibly dark.
Flowers are supposed to hide in it. On paper, not to my nose.
But how is this deep scent on my skin?

Initially, it comes across as very intense full of dry, deep red fruits that you would snack on in a lush garden. The air is clear, warm and pleasant. The flowers do not come typically floral, but all very resinous, dry, almost woody. One could almost think to have a kerosene in the nose.

The flowers warp with the time more and more in the background, only a pleasant, somehow green dryness and the full nose fruit remains.
The whole consistently over hours on a body-enveloping projection, not room-filling but also subconsciously perceivable.

For me definitely one of the more exciting fragrances of the house and tested by me just at the right time

Syrupy floral, delightfully unisex
The very latest release from Imaginary Authors is the limited edition Decisions, Decisions, and it’s a subtle, sultry, floral, sweet mix featuring tuberose and sarsaparilla, with supporting notes of labdanum, raspberry, geranium, jasmine sambac, and the imaginary note of sweet suspense.

There’s a syrupy quality to it, likely due to the sarsaparilla—vaguely boozy, even—that operates harmoniously with the florals and resins, fostering a rather seamless blend. It feels well-rounded, not audaciously loud but craftily put together, with restraint. And it’s not too sweet, but just the right amount of sweet to prevent the fragrance from being floral-dominant in a powdery or sharp way.

The “sweet and floral” summary means, for many, myself included, that it feels feminine-leaning, but it’s really unisex, enjoyable, and versatile, as it feels perfectly appropriate on a winter day but does not like seem like it would be out of place in warmer weather, either.

I like Decisions, Decisions as a different sort of offering from the last few, more subdued, subtle. The most recent releases—A Whiff of Wafflecone, Telegrama, Whispered Myths, and O, Unknown—have each been a bit louder, so I like the change of pace with this release, and I imagine others might, as well.

It is available at the standard pricing of $95 for 50ml (with a travel size of $38 for 14ml) and is sold directly via the IA website as well as great boutiques like Perfumology.
