The way of the dark barque
Then you drift almost silently on the Nubian Nile on your dark barque of old wooden craft. You listen to the creaking of the knotty beams, literally hear the damp clay and the moss, and somewhere in the wood a few blossoms whisper, very softly, balsamic and sweet. Your barque wears a leathery skin, a touch of saffron, soon invisibly delicate, and roots grow between the planks, shimmering earth-colored and white as mother-of-pearl.
From the vastness of the desert bittersweet spice blows on the sacred river of slow resins, sometimes washing from the shore the loamy earth, sometimes glowing like sweet nard. Above it flickers threads of incense, interweaving with shimmering traces of birch tar that bind the planks of the barque, do you smell from afar already the scent of Patchouly from the burial chambers of the pyramids?

Her life path has taken her from studying Middle Eastern archaeology to aromatherapy to the teachings of Greek Arabic medicine. The production of her fragrances are derived from procedures of the ancient Agyptians.
All of this is reflected in "Old Nubia." The loamy-moist Cambodian oud and the sweet-floral Assam oud increasingly merge with earthy labdanum, sweetish nard and balsamic incense. Iris root, birch tar, saffron and caraway set gentle pinpoints, providing small discernible edges that could have been a bit more pronounced for my taste. The liqueur-like patchouly is perceptible, but remains distant. This creates a dark, spicy and mystical overall image of ancient Nubia. The dark bark carries you moderately to quietly over ten hours downstream.
