Fragrant traditional fragrance from Lyon
Everything used to be better, très bien, especially in Lyon, in a small cosmetic institute. Somehow touching, the story of the rediscovery of the old formula for this Eau de Cologne ; perhaps just a marketing trick. In any case, this EdC is nostalgic, very successful and extremely reminiscent of Eau de Shalimar... a little stronger, more orange, drydown with benzoin. Some here speak of a mix of Shalimar and L'heure bleue, which pretty much gives my impression.
The Sillage is stronger than that of a normal EdC, it could also pass as an eau de toilette.
However, Cologne a la Russe is not a leather fragrance, has nothing to do with the usual eaux, which normally trade under the name "russe".
At first I found this disappointing, because I love "Russian leather" in every form.
However, I have been compensated, because the fragrance here reminds in the best sense of the Haute Parfumerie tradition. One has the impression that one is really wearing a perfumed perfume made by hand... et vraiment, c'est bien. Très bien
