Running around a mysterious place in your underwear!
Oh, La Route d'Emeraude, the Emerald Route. It sounds exciting, exciting, mysterious... well, a bit like something from a fantasy novel or video game :D It could be one of those fantasy (multiplayer) video games where you play a hero who fights evil and seeks fame and fortune in different imaginative places. On the way you'll meet other comrades-in-arms, of which at least half of the male players play a female character, which is usually perfectly okay, I also like to gamble with a female character. The only thing is that some of these gentlemen let their female character run around in their underwear... and the better the technique and thus the game graphics become, the more often you see such figures in the online worlds in lingerie lashing around :DD
And even funnier is that they try to convince other male games that they are actually girls to get play money or other coveted items from the game from them :D

On the other hand... well, you have to admit that the female characters in the games often also look totally hot (aaah, when I think of some of the elves...!!) and... no no no, SO far down I haven't arrived yet, despite my eternal single existence, than that I would let a character run (or dance) around in her underwear, even if it should be virtual (where,... as I said, they look pretty hot already :DD). But finally you want to show what great outfits and armour you're wearing, right? The reason is that it's all about finding the best and the next better equipment!

Oh, I could really digress here for a long time, but as I said, the name of the fragrance just made me think "briefly" of fantasy games. But now I come to the fragrance, well maybe the fragrance smells somehow imaginative or mysterious!

The fragrance:
Somehow I have difficulties to smell the scents listed in the top note. I smell hardly any bergamot, no roses and hardly any cinnamon. Instead, the fragrance for me starts directly with the jasmine, which is quite sweet, but also smells nice as usual. The second fragrance, which you can also smell very intensely, is the Neroli, which also smells nice, but also makes the fragrance a little more mature and heavier. I also smell heavy and slightly sultry floral scents that remind me of ylang-ylang. However, this impression does not last long or soon becomes weaker.
A little later, the fragrance becomes even sweeter with the tuberoses and I am already smelling the first touches of vanilla. With the benzoin, the fragrance becomes more powdery and gentle, while the vanilla, as always, gives a powdery impression.
The scent remains heavy floral-sweet on the base, and a little later the heavy floral notes look a little more, which reminds me of ylang-ylang flowers again (I urgently need another flower example, can't always play the ylang-ylang card... I'd just know more about flowers!!!) :DD). The vanilla and the benzoin now work a little better, making the fragrance even softer. Besides, you can smell some amber now, musk on the other hand I could smell less.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
As is usually the case with fragrances with heavier neroli and jasmine notes, this scent is also quite radiant and will be quite well perceived on one, as one leaves behind a larger scent cloud.
This also means that the shelf life is very long and will certainly be smellable from morning until late in the evening.

The bottle:
The (new) bottle is rectangular and seems to have a golden shimmer. On the sides you can see interlocking orange plant patterns. At the top, the flacon rises slightly in a pyramidal shape. The lid is bronze-coloured and consists of an octagonal column and a plate with a silk ribbon wrapped between it. It's a nice bottle.

I think this fragrance is already successful, but for me personally it smells a bit too heavy and mature. It is not fresh, even if it could still be worn in spring. But I find the scent more suitable for autumn. And now in summer it's absolutely misplaced for me!

As for the mysterious... of course, it's always difficult with something like that... I mean, how is anything mysterious supposed to smell? However, it's just that the fragrance with its many flowery-sweet scents sometimes smells a little bit exotic and thus at least reminds of the distance, so that you can find the name Emerald Route quite okay.
I think that you ladies might really like this fragrance, so I recommend to try it out.

Hmm... online games.... Honestly, they never really interested me that much, so I didn't care so much about them. But still I find it funny when I think that many guys with extra lightly dressed lady characters travel through the dangerous places. Of course, while the male heroes in heavy and imposing armour fight dangerous, monstrous enemies, female characters (led by male players) in frayed mini leather aprons and the tightest tops do it as the only "armour",... so that you can see some sexy poses in the various animations, aaah! I have to admit that female elves and look quite cute... okaaaay, and with some poses (hey, some can also dance properly!),... already very sexy...!!!! :DD

*sigh*

A highly on the modern and almost photorealistic game graphics, which especially optically pleases us singles :DD

*sigh sigh sigh*

:DD

PS: In the online game The Elder Scrolls you can also play a character from a catfolk, woohooo :DDD

Green Velvet for a Hot English Summer
On my skin La Route d'Emeraude is a floral citrus. It is long lasting, singing along for around 1 to 1 1/2 hours before drying down to a ladylike projection and sillage.

On my forearms the perfume has a natural fruity sweet scent (like a fruit jelly sweet factory firing up in the 1960's). The whilte florals are musky and sweet with a little something that brings to mind benzoin and dry vanilla (by dry I mean not a cupcake essence or gourmand vanilla).

From under my clothes as I warmed in the sunshine today there were lovely wafts of sweet citrusy orange blossom and jasmine; lots of very sweet jasmine on me, bright and fresh with bergamot. The green undercurrent of La Route is gentle on my skin.

I had a beautiful pale emerald green velvet dress when young, fitted at the waist with a slightly drapey skirt and floaty cream lace capped sleeves; I would drift along, walking through the local woodland park, watching the bees, smelling the leaves of the rhododendrom, picking dry long grass to weave into circles, shoo shooing the cows as they flicked their tails against the flies. At sixteen I would have worn the heck out of La Route d'Emeraude, dressed in my green velvet, shoo shooing the cows in the heat haze of a hot English summer.

blooming jasmine & orange - perfected
My first thought upon inhaling La Route d'Emeraude is that it reminded me of "Sung" by Alfred Sung, which in turn had strongly suggested to me a more refined and less aldehydic take on "White Shoulders". And no wonder:

ROUTE D'EMERAUDE
Top Notes: Bergamot, Rose oil, Cinnamon
Heart Notes: Jasmine sambac, Moroccan jasmine absolute, Orange blossom, Tuberose
Base Notes: Ambergris, Benzoin, Vanilla, Musk

SUNG
Top Notes: Bergamot, Galbanum, Hyacinth, Mandarin, Orange, Ylang-ylang, Lemon
Heart Notes: Iris, Jasmine, Lily-of-the-valley, Osmanthus
Base Notes: Amber, Orange wood, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Vetiver

WHITE SHOULDERS
Top Notes: Aldehydes, Bergamot, Green notes, Orange blossom, Peach
Heart Notes: Lilac, Gardenia, Spices, Iris, Jasmine, Lily, Lily-of-the-valley, Tuberose
Base Notes: Amber, Benzoin, Oakmoss, Musk, Sandalwood, Civet

There are other perfumes I've tested over the last few years that sprang from the same well as Sung and White Shoulders, though their names escape me now.

But if you love Sung, you will Looooooove La Route d'Emeraude. It takes the smooth jasmine & orange motif to a whole new level of quality and creaminess. Absolutely luscious, with nice projection and longevity.

On a cloud
This is a marvelous perfume. It transports me away into a dream state. I could get technical and explain the notes, but that is not it. The soft feminine aura wraps the wearer like a fluffy blanket and brings about a calm sense of peace.

Jasmine is a difficult note which is masterfully dealt with here. This scent is there, and yet it is not in your face. There is powder and there is a whiff of freshness here and there. Medium sillage and nice longevity. It smells expensive.

One of the softest scents I have ever encountered.
