Nice smell but...
I don't agree with all of those good longevity reviews I'm reading. After only 2 or 3 hours i can barely smell anything on my skin so i think people exaggerate a bit on this one. It does have a nice smell i just wish it lasted longer. I've had to reapply 4 different times in a single day. That's just poor but then again it's only $16 for a nice size bottle so i guess u get what u pay for.

The surgeon among the fragrances...
Jaguar can do it or Jaguar can't. This sometimes ambivalent automotive-related production and manufacturing quality also suits the classification of fragrances for my senses. Can go well, but it doesn't have to...

This signature version does not belong to the Monday fragrances:). As the pre-evaluator already wrote, the pyramid is airy green, grassy and resinous from the start. In the further course of the fragrance the whole thing becomes somehow serious. This will be the vetiver that contributes this slightly medically sterile, hypothermic note. However, I don't take it as extremely emphasized as Vetiver v. Guerlain did. Fortunately, because I don't like this one in its abruptness at all. The signature is brighter there and has become much more sociable and suitable for everyday use for me. The frankincense rounds off the number in its seriousness, whereby a light sweetish final note adds a mild finish. Overall, the fragrance appears somehow distinguished and somewhat unapproachable. It doesn't exactly cause a cuddle factor. Unless you're into refrigerators.

Fragrance carrier classifications are always very subjective, so enjoy mine with caution. I would definitely assign it to the office and not to the errand boy with the rubber sole, but to the room with the guy in the dark grey thread, light grey temples and leather soled (although of course the former could probably buy this cheapheimer rather...). He could also fit in with a surgeon - someone with no emotion bones.... well, you know.

The durability and Sillage are rather in the upper midfield, so that there is still some air left to laugh and you come out alive.

However - no, it is not an unappealing scent. I've written a little more pointedly. To be honest, I think it's really good to have a more masculine and pithy orientation. This is not a teen part and not for the club - except for over 40...

As far as I can judge this as a non-chemist, the fragrance composition is not artificial or pungent and has - at least for me - no headache factor.

Good to take with you for the price. You definitely can't smell it at every corner, it's fully suitable for office use and it has a good understatement factor. A little "grey mouse moderate", but with class and style. And - it seems more expensive than it is.

Intoxicating perfection
I've got quite a few Jaguar fragrances in my wardrobe, namely all of the Classic line, and I was looking for ultimate Classic Chromite when I came across Signature of Excellence. Initially, I was attracted by the luxurious bottle, the heavy glass bottle in graduated green, with a silver plate and cap, and then by the notes. I was so curious about what Palo Santo wood could have smelled like, I never heard nor smelt it, so I carelessly bought it blindly. When I got the parcel, and I opened the box, I didn't know what to expect. The official site put it in the woody family, but damn. It is so freaking good!

Jaguar Signature of Excellence opens with sparkling bergamot, and a touch of bright petitgrain. It is consciously blended with the indescribably pleasant, spicy, sweet aroma of freshly ground nutmeg, this one when freshly grated into mulled wine or eggnog, the spice's rich aroma fills many kitchens in December. Yep, it's a winter spice. Nutmeg, to me, is about warm, cozy kitchens, and it's about log fires. It's about drawing the curtains, opening a book, wrapping presents.

The cologne develops into something balmy, balsamic, and minty thanks to the Palo Santo, the sacred wood, which is part of the citrus family and has sweet notes of pine, mint, and lemon. The amazing aroma of this resinous wood is for spiritual purifying, energy cleansing, and soul healing. The exquisite wood note is enfolded in earthy, bitter, very masculine vetiver and balmy amber-like labdanum essence. On my skin, Palo Santo dominates the heart, whereas vetiver and labdanum are not outstanding and linger in the background.

The dry-down is smoky, bittersweet, musky, and the resinous incense mixes with roasted tonka and a gentle touch of musk, manly but not too animal. Ain't no much sweetness from the tonka, just a pleasant feel.

At last, Nutmeg and Palo Santo make this juice suitable for cold seasons, it works well during both fall and winter, the sillage is moderate and not offensive, and the longevity is above average. It is a day scent, perfect for the office or an aperò with friends before dinner.
