V.O. = Very Oldschool
So either the bottle, despite its resemblance to a small animal coffin (according to Parfumo Achilles), was so inconspicuous that I never noticed this perfume, or it was simply rarely offered for sale in our latitudes.
On the other hand, the fragrance is all the more striking. So V.O. starts off with a bit of bergamot, and then fires a full-bodied barrel with dark bitter-sweet spicy notes, such as pepper, before it then swirls away oriental-floral. Jasmine, lavender and ylan ylang set the tone - absolutely energetic, but stylish and typically moderate from the 80s. That means the whole thing again underlined by woody notes as well as sandalwood and a good shot of musk.
Ergo V.O. actually offers the classic properties of a chypre scent, even if one could not necessarily deduce this from the ingredients listed here. There must be one or the other again be supplemented.
The fact that it offers an enormous amount of endurance and projection is completely correct here.
I think most perfumes of my generation and above would describe the creation as quite masculine, noble and sensual, younger ones possibly as oldschool or at worst old-fashioned. Especially with a lot of endurance and projection.
With a different name and probably also a more stylish bottle, Jean-Marc Sinan's work would certainly be a well-known classic - so it is only a marginal note among perfumes. The fragrance would have deserved more attention. In this sense V.O. could also stand for "damn neat" here!
