The Green Grass of Home
This fragrance deserves an objective opinion. I think I am right in admitting that we all appreciate having intense and different perfumes, bearing with our favourite notes, that we buy almost at any price, that we will use only on some occasions, and that we consciously classify as "our masterpieces". On the other hand, we consider it indispensable to have some perfumes perhaps cheaper than the previous ones, consensual, versatile, and not too intense, that we use distractedly in our everyday life and that we mentally label as "good for almost everything".
Lavande & Vétiver falls completely into this second type of fragrance. It is clearly a masculine fragrance, although I can imagine many women wearing it as well. We can classify it as an aromatic fougère, an aromatic woody, or even a spicy fresh perfume. Its eclecticism lends itself to this vagueness. Its lavender and vetiver notes are very clean, denoting carefully selected ingredients. I imagine the fresh lavender comes from the Grasse region, while the clean, more ethereal vetiver may well have been selected from the finest Haitian samples. Light notes of tonka and iris add some softness and sweetness. The vanilla note in the base is also light enough to add just a bit of spicy sweetness. It's just not strong enough to highlight similarities to the more intense alter egos "Pour Un Homme de Caron (Eau de Toilette) | Caron" and Le Mâle Eau de Toilette which are often compared to this very affordable gem from Jeanne En Provence. In fact, I only notice a remarkable similarity with Pour Un Homme de Caron L'Eau.
The performance is barely moderate and more in accordance with the low price of this fragrance.
This is a daytime perfume, a crowd-pleaser, moderately fresh, extremely versatile and very easy to wear in work situations, at home, on walks in the park or around town, and even at the gym and on the beach. Its low price should make it even more attractive, rather than making buyers wary, as seems to be the case most of the time.

Clean and crisp ratings for Lavande & Vétiver:
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
- Opening: 8.5 (clean and crisp lavender and vetiver).
- Dry Down: 7.5 (The initial clean strength of a herbal and woody fougère becomes a little more mainstream with more wood, added sweetness and less crispness).
- Longevity: 6.0 (3 sprays last up to 4.5 hours).
- Sillage: 6.0 (up to 4 feet and 2 hours of projection, with 3 sprays).
- Uniqueness: 8.0 (Unique in its price/quality ratio. I can only conceive of a true resemblance with Pour Un Homme de Caron L'Eau, although, due to its popular scent type, it features vibes reminiscent of "Pour Un Homme de Caron (Eau de Toilette) | Caron", Le Mâle Eau de Toilette, Luna Rossa Sport, Signature Eau de Parfum and Etienne Aigner Nº2 Eau de Toilette to name but a few).
- Wearability: 9.0 (I consider it a daytime perfume that should not be worn in very cold temperatures).
- Versatility: 9.0 (it is very versatile and is suitable almost everywhere except in evening events).
- Praise: 7.5 (Not bad, but also not exceptional. However, most people will recognise that you will smell fresh, clean and pleasant).
- Quality: 8.5 (Very good. Considering its price, it should deserve a 10).
- Presentation: 7.5 (It uses the standard bottle from Jeanne En Provence's men's line; it is simple, effective and tasteful).
- Price: 10.0 (100ml flask under €10.0 at Notino).
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
Overall rating: 7.95 / 10.00
- between 7 and 8 = above average;
- between 8 and 9 = recommended;
- above 9 = definitely not to be missed;

My opinion: This easy-to-please scent is a clean and fresh flagship for the male audience, adapting to many different types of men and environments due to its versatility. Its fragrance style, in line with the breed generalised by Le Mâle Eau de Toilette and "Pour Un Homme de Caron (Eau de Toilette) | Caron", makes it appeal to both male wearers and female noses, though without arousing huge romantic passions. A few weeks after buying it, the perfume will probably have run out leaving just the empty bottle. It will be an excellent sign.
A blind purchase is totally justified by its low cost, consensualism and versatility.

Pour Un Homme 2 Le Mâle
It has been a long time, too long, that I have been spinning around these perfumes from Jeanne en Provance. I stumbled upon these intriguing fragrances about a couple of years ago while browsing the Notino website; their colored glass bottles and meager price immediately tickled me. A quick search on the official website revealed Grasse's use of natural ingredients and the master nose behind each one, a bit like Yves Rocher's house. But then I never followed up on the purchase. The fact is that last fall, I visited the DM store, which is part of a German chain, and I saw these perfumes displayed on the shelf, on sale for much less than € 10. I immediately tested them, and their aroma won me over instantly. Lavande & Vétiver was the first to enter the cart and, by sheer fate, the last to receive a review.
Last but not least, as they say. Its initial aroma is misleading and has deceived my senses pleasantly. Read on, and you will find out more.

Moderately dry with a hint of citrus and fiery at the beginning. Herbaceous notes are dark but not scary, instead of green and reasonable. A sort of camphor lavender is the first note I get, followed by a vanilla-like coumarin. This primary explosion immediately reminded me of Caron's Pour Un Homme's classic cologne, in which the lavender and vanilla duo make it unique and unmistakable. As it calms down, some sour aroma jumps in, and I don't think it comes from the bergamot. It looks more like bitter orange zest, which adds a touch of citrus to a barely spiced start. And the lavender takes on a minty and medicinal vibe, which makes me think of the presence of hidden aromatic rosemary. The initial phase is pleasant and relaxing, like a fresh and stimulating Provençal wind coming from the fields of lavender in bloom.

Thus, the fragrance changes dramatically, deviating from Caron's masterpiece and taking another direction. The vanilla vibe is still there, now closer to the roasted tonka beans, and beyond that is plenty of powdery iris root that kicks pretty hard. There are no lipsticks or makeup arrangements, just a dusty feel. A hint of extra tarragon and presumably sage makes the heart more greenish, while cedar adds a touch of dry woodiness. The wood is just all too dry but without shades of pencil shavings. Wait a minute, what deviation am I talking about? The more the perfume goes through the intermediate phase, the more it reminds me of JPG's Le Mâle, whose atmosphere is immediately recognizable and very pleasant. The notes listed are not the same, but the resulting aroma is.

When Lavande & Vétiver dries, some smoke oozes from the guaiac wood, with warm vanilla and creamy musk undertones. I get more warmth and woods in the shades. At this point, the resemblance to Le Mâle is patently identical. It is creamier with a little bit of a powdered element. What I have left in the end is a fragrance of vanilla and lavender, with the remnants of a powerful balsamic accord. A warm mix of amber tonka on top of the wood envelops everything.

It's a reasonably safe scent that can be worn just about anywhere, and it's not overwhelming either. Lavande & Vétiver is good at what it does, providing a lovely scent, versatility, good projection, and longevity, and it's still pretty sexy and seductive. It is a bright choice for a winter fragrance or even during the coldest days of autumn. It is then that this cologne performs at its best. It is an essential and reasonably inexpensive perfume to try and maybe turn into everyday wear. Interesting. It is a very modern and chic version of lavender and oriental fragrances. I can only feel that a lot of inspiration has been taken from Caron Pour Un Homme and JPG Le Male. Although these scents differ significantly from Lavande and Vétiver, they are all built around vanilla and lavender. In any case, Lavande & Vétiver is very interesting.

I based the review on a 100ml bottle I have owned since November 2020.

Perfume slightly "warmed" but not quite sweet, due to the note of vetiver in contrast to lavender. Similar to JPG Le Male.

A modern lavender and vanilla blend. I can only feel that a lot of inspiration has been taken from Caron Pour Un Homme and JPG Le Male. Nice
