Die faszinierende (the fascinating)
This is how class speaks: by intrigue. A language translated in scent by a sophistication unlike any other.
Never I found in 27 years of hard search such a unique, beguiling fragrance. A true beauty, as in a masterpiece of perfumery.

Unlike for her more mature sister (the EDP), here the hawthorn is substituted by tuberose, the nutmeg by cardamom, the violet leaf by violet. The main accord plays again a highly über feminine violet/leather combo. Slightly sharper than in her sister, though not so long lived. Tuberose is demure, ambrette timid; the accent is on astounding balance.

Hats off to Jil Sander for achieving poetry in scent. I'm beguiled, entranced, spellbound at first spray. The world stood still for a moment like an eternity while at first spray I stepped into another dimension, in the dream of dreams. I've waited over 2 decades for this moment of utter fulfillment, since the creation of my beloved Angel.
Simply now contends my heart with Angel.

At the polar opposite with each other's nature, I am not sure I can choose: there's something about them both which tags at my core.
This will be a dance of dreams from now on. Boy, I am in LOVE.

NOTE: If you are not in awe of Fahrenheit, don't even test this. It's his younger, sassy, demanding sister. This babe takes no prisoners, she's a badass, though a younger girl. And has class to spare.

Sometimes simple can be just good!
So... I have a question for you:
How do you recognize a perfume or a perfumo in a perfume shop? A "normal" perfume, I don't mean me,... because you can easily recognize me by the fact that I flee the women's department screaming with a lot of noise and drama...!
...
The answer is quite simple: when they seem to be no longer interested in most mainstream fragrances! This sounds harsh and maybe as if we all got a bit stuck-up, but the search for ever new fragrances sometimes (often maybe even unconsciously) takes us so far away from the usual perfumes sold in "normal" shops that we run the risk of missing out on some great scents among these so-called mainstreamers as well, like this Simply by Jil Sander here.

Because here is a fragrance that is loose on the skin, nice to smell of floral and sweet scents with some green notes and leathery notes, and therefore comes across quite nice in summer. So I say that we should just keep our eyes open and take a closer look at the shelves in the, well as I said, "normal" shops. But maybe not too closely... otherwise you might actually see me trying to spray a women's fragrance like this one on myself and then quickly turn the corner. And that might seem a little disturbing and... hmm... let's say "strange", nooo! :D

The smell:
The fragrance begins sweetish and slightly fruity-flowery fresh. One smells the indicated pear, which I find beautifully fragrant. The sweetish one should come from the ambrette seeds. And since I also perceive something herbaceous-green, I guess galbanum, even though I never really know how galbanum really smells (but according to the exclusion criterion it should be galbanum in my opinion :D).
Cardamom is (unfortunately) also almost to be smelled at the beginning and it smells as if it was combined with coriander, for example. Well, coriander is not really in here now, so this impression is not that horrible, but you can smell the cardamom, which is sometimes not to everyone's taste. I don't like it that much either, but the other fragrances that smell better outweigh it. And, um... somehow it seems as if I started moaning too early, because while I was writing all this, the scent became even more beautiful, because the disturbing cardamom has decreased again... :DD
Anyway, it soon smells flowery-sweetish, the fruity one of the pear is still there, but fades further and further. The floral scents come from both tuberoses and violets, but since the scent also has a rather powdery background, I find that the violets can be perceived much more clearly. For a short while it stays that way, until at some point a little bit of soft leather appears, which goes quite well with the sweet and powdery scents, so the leather also appears soft, almost like suede.
The fragrance stays like this for a while (although the sweetness increases a bit more at first, but then of course decreases again), but in the later base a little synthetic notes become noticeable, which I don't really mind now, as most of the fragrance is quite nice and you can simply spray it on again at a late hour. Apart from that, the later base is much more earthy, which might be due to the patchouli.

The Sillage and the durability:
The radiation is okay, neither very high nor very low. So you're gonna be sniffing one for a while.
The shelf life is also okay, which means that the fragrance can be smelled reasonably well for six or seven hours.

The bottle! The bottle is cylindrical and has a thick base. The top of the bottle is white and opaque, and the name of the fragrance is written in gold on it. The neck is also gold-plated, with the white, cylindrical cap on top. On the top of the cap is a transparent disc, so you can see the inside of the cap, where a small support for this disc has been placed, with the golden brand name written on it. A very beautiful and handy bottle.

Hm, I love to smell myself through all kinds of scents. Even the mainstreamers become "victims of my olfactory bulb" :D
Of course I don't like all of these scents, but it is still worthwhile to sniff around here from time to time. Then you will also discover great perfumes among the cheap scents, which are definitely recommendable. Like this Simply here.

It simply smells beautifully of powdery floral notes with a pleasant but not overwhelming sweetness and light leathery notes. This makes it a beautiful, everyday scent for the warm seasons, which in my opinion is just worth a look. Of course, everyone has his or her likes and dislikes, but you shouldn't immediately write off a fragrance just because it's either mainstream or you think the fragrance series is useless anyway. Otherwise you might miss something nice :)
So he turned out better than you might think!

By the way, although this fragrance was in the women's section, it was easy for me to test the scent, as there was a shelf of men's fragrances right behind it in the same row, so all I had to do was take the bottle and walk two steps back to spray it on me at the men's fragrances, mu ha ha ha! *sigh* Why can't it always be that easy??... :DD
