Stop Making Sense
Here I do not even want to lament about what Jil Sander brought out at that time for strong fragrances and how much one mourns these behind. That know experienced Parfumos also so ...
After the absolute classics from the 80s and 90s came through maybe here and there still what appealing, with the low point was probably Ultrasense.
This EdT starts herb-spicy, which in itself goes more than ok, but unfortunately this happens with unsightly synthetic accompanying tones and thus seems a little inferior. at best boring and uninspired. Sage and something pepper-like is still the only thing that comes through, if you know it, what is meant.
And no: Ultrasense is now by no means unpleasant or annoying, but despite the quite useful musky-sweet-fresh drydown, totally inconsequential. At first I was surprised that behind it is Oliver Pescheux - that perfumer who just in recent years some fragrance box office hits from the stack let. On closer inspection of his portfolio, however, you can also see that not all of his releases were successful.
So it is not surprising that Ultrasense, which even then already quite a few drugstore fragrances could put in many respects in the bag, was taken ultra-fast again from the market and also the flanker Ultrasense White could by no means tie to the success series of Jil Sander Sun.
This means that no one Ultrasense cries after and also the remains on Ebay are anything but in demand. At least the label had remained reasonably true to itself in the design of the flacon and remained in its traditional purist line.
