Interesting Facts
Jimmy Choo's passion for exclusive shoes was born in his cradle, as Choo's father, who was born in Malaysia in 1961, owned a shoe store with a workshop. Choo created his shoe models while still at school and later attended college lectures on fashion in London. After graduating in 1984, Choo opened his first shoe store and turned his shoes into a brand.

Until 1996, Jimmy Choo ruled his shoe empire alone, supported only by his niece Sandra Choi and Tamara Mellon, a reporter at Vogue. Shortly before the turn of the millennium, the label was expanded to include some partners and became "Jimmy Choo Ltd". The company went to "JAB Holding" in 2011 and fell to the fashion label "Michael Kors" in 2017. Since then, Jimmy Choo has specialized in designing high-quality, exclusive, and original women's shoes.

The shoes of the label "Jimmy Choo" are offered in standard sizes and also tailor-made. This brings the label celebrity clientele such as Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Kylie Minogue, or Emily Blunt, but at the same time enables collaborations with other retail brands such as "H&M".

At the company's eleventh anniversary in 2007, "Jimmy Choo" had more than 60 of its shoe and fashion boutiques. In Germany, the brand is represented by more than 20 stores, for example in Frankfurt, Ingolstadt, Düsseldorf, and Munich.

Jimmy Choo was appointed "Officer of the Order of the British Empire" (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003.
