Elegance and comfort in 80s leather
The house of Jitrois is known for their leather dresses, so I guess it's not very surprising that they chose to make a perfume that has leather in it. This is an 80s oriental chypre of the absolute highest quality. Something in the vein of original Versace mixed with Capucci de Capucci. Intoxicating, warm, smoky animalic leather, layered with a veil of cool, herbal freshness.
Full bottles seem to be almost non-existant, but the miniatures are quite easily found, and they keep very well. You don't need more than a drop or two either, as this has huge sillage and lasting power. One spray from a full bottle can actually be a bit much! I usually wear it in autumn, but it is also a nice choice for cool spring days. I find the castoreum note to be very comforting - like a well-worn favourite coat or warm sweater, which always feels "just right" - but of course, you have to be comfortable with animalic notes to enjoy it. It has that slightly "unwashed" feeling, but still on the acceptable side.
My two bottles and all my minis are edt, but I have seen pictures of an edp as well - it has frosted glass, while the edt has clear glass. However, the edt is absolutely strong and long-lasting enough, I honestly don't see how it could get much better.
