Meditation

There aren’t very many fragrances on the market that help induce meditation, however this particular perfume does help. I can’t explain why, but it is extremely relaxing to me. It is not overbearing or shouting out in any way.
It’s totally unisex, as well. Great for any time and any place in my opinion.
Jo Malone did very well on this blend!

...the perfect combination

I'm sure you can wear it on your own. He's beautiful. Fresh, spring-like, lively, friendly and much more.
But I like to combine it with another Jo Malone, namely Myrrh & Tonka.
Yeah, that's right, you read it right. I think these two go great together.
The fragrance starts with grass notes in the first seconds. I perceive hay, directly associated with various herbs. I even feel a slight peppermint note, but only for seconds. After a few minutes, Neroli sneaks in. Slowly but steadily. I can't smell musk, perhaps minimal at the end, nor the partial eponym "basil".

A good, rock solid, fresh fragrance but also no longer.

The other day I stumbled across the Jo Malone bar in a Douglas. Finally.
Two favorites.
One order.
Extensive test on arrival.
Basil & Neroli - I was thinking of well-off, older ladies with very expensive leather handbags and fur collars,
who do their shopping at the KaDeWe. They are wrapped in elegant fabrics and this fragrance, which they leave behind in the corridors of the luxury department store between cashmere pullovers, fine dark chocolates and champagne bottles.
I see high tea and english decadence with golden spoons and clotted cream.
Now I would like to wear brocade and stroke velvet pads, dark woods around me and an expensive whisky.

The sky is ripping open

Today the city was burdened with oppressive humidity - and the sky looked like lead.

The people crawled at snail's pace laboriously ahead and I was in the middle among them.

So I dragged myself into the perfumery to rest at Malone Bar.
So many promising bottles in a row.

My tired eyes spelled Neroli - and that was enough to promise relief.
I only noticed the word Basil at the second reading.
And so is the scent.

The cool, refreshing Neroli is immediately on the spot - and it tears open the draining clouds from which relieving rain pours down.
It is soft summer rain that pampers skin and hair.
He also awakens the spicy green basil, and one is in a rain-wet herb garden, from which the aromas flow intensely.
Musk smoothes the fragrance, leaving it soft and supple.

Despite good shelf life and intensity, Basil & Neroli retains a likeable Cologne character that fits in warm temperatures.

The Malones also have a certain natural tone that appeals to me.

A label I'll be keeping an eye on.
