White tea; especially noble in the cup and also on the skin
The annual collection of fragrances from Jo Malone is also always awaited by me with curiosity.
This "Rare Teas" collection appeared a few years ago - just in between - as a particularly noble collection of fragrances.
First I was allowed to test them in the Jo Malone depot with us in the KaDeWe: while my neighbor once again with itself did not agree whether she should dare to something new or but old-tried in her most own fragrance world, the always very nice salesman and I amused ourselves with the discovery of these fine fragrances.
Of course, only a hint of exquisite tea compositions remained in my memory at the time; however, my interest was aroused.
Now it turned out that my here again and again so praise-mentioned Parfumista (she knows exactly that she is meant!), in her inexhaustible, fortunately always "regrowing" "to go" collection had two of these "Rare Teas" fillings.
These two landed then of course also with me.
One of them is "Rare Teas - Silver Needle Tea": a very fine fragrance painting on the basis of a very exquisite white tea.
"Yin Zhen Silver Needle" tea is the most famous and at the same time the rarest white tea in China.
For him, only particularly beautiful aromatic, still unopened shoots of the Pai Hao tea plant are collected by hand and processed accordingly carefully.
Since Yin "Zhen Silver Needle-Tea" hardly becomes bitter, it is not necessary to remove the leaves after infusion.
On the contrary, multiple pouring over this set of tea leaves is easily possible and is even recommended.
As a passionate tea drinker for decades - already in the mid-seventies sensitized me a then friend for the enjoyment of tea, any finer tea base in fragrances is always very welcome to me - see here also "Earl Grey & Cucumber", also by Jo Malone and commented by me.
"Rare Tea - Silver Needle Tea" is a very special fragrance blend, which I would perhaps also like to have as an infusion in one of my beautiful porcelain teacups.
Bergamot reminds of course first of the old-known and much loved "Earl Grey" tea.
But white tea is lighter and finer, simply more delicate, than the familiar "herb" in the Earl Grey blend.
So this first impression evaporates quite quickly and is taken by some herbs (which I can not define in more detail) and a nice dose of sage in a completely different direction of enjoyment.
Sage as a tea and incense is always welcome to me; even if many people are always bothered by the somewhat peculiar, herbaceous inherent taste; I like it!
As a fragrance and companion to the previous tea base, sage is a good framework here, on which the pleasing aromas of the much-loved mimosa and noble rose absolute can store with pleasure and "spread".
This floral freshness once again awakens the temptation to drink this melange.
Especially on very warm days sage tea cools quite extraordinarily and so such a cup of tea would not only be a special drinking pleasure, but also a lasting refreshment.
But this fragrance remains itself and on the skin, but now surrounds itself with a light musk robe, which forms the crowning conclusion of this "tea ceremony".
Very skillfully here freshness is interwoven with flowers and exotic elegance: "Rare Teas - Silver Needle Tea" is a very fine fragrance creation, which is perceived as a pleasant touch, but never turns out to be intrusive or in the course of the fragrance even "elderly"!
Jo Malone has again created a fragrance that pleases all lovers of fresh, clear fragrance artwork.
The courage to combine the most diverse fragrance notes with each other, again emerges particularly whole.
Already many of the earlier fragrances such as "Blackberry & Bay", "English Pear & Freesia" and just also "Earl Grey & Cucumber" therefore belong to my collection and also to my life.
I like this clarity in the fragrance, which for me also stands for a certain British understatement.
"Rare Teas - Silver Neddle Tea" will certainly accompany me more often this summer.
I look forward to many shared hour with this fragrance creature, which turns out to be pleasant and exceedingly friendly - an ideal companion.
Maybe we both go once in the "English Tea House" in the Tiergarten; there is every summer in the middle of nature of jazz at home: that would be really a suitable ambience for this fragrance composition!
