Snowdrops...how do they smell?
Snowdrops...how do they smell, and do they smell at all?
Snowdrops do not smell (at least I tried but couldn't feel anything), and I guess Jo Malone suggests her own imaginative perception how it would smell, and I agree with her. I don't want to break this smell in notes, I am taking it as a whole. It is beautiful and feminine, I see it wearing only in a fresh weather, and it is office safe. Bottle design suits it perfectly. You smell what you see.
This bottle is my blind buying, and I don't regret at all, it is a diamond in my collection.

Snowdrop,... Snowflakes...White skirts!
Soo, today I come to a new Jo Malonen fragrance from this year. This one is limited this time and should not be available any more, as is the case with most of Jo Malone's limited fragrances. It's always such a thing... if the fragrance is popular, it will be gone in no time. If he gets less attention, you can still find him again and again after a few months. It will be interesting to see how long this fragrance will remain on the market here.

In any case, I am always happy to try out new fragrances from this brand. Over the years I've found more and more Jo Malone to be my favourite and especially her limited edition fragrances are interesting and great.

Soo... the last new fragrance of this brand, the Honeysuckle & Davana (which by the way is not limited), had really disappointed me. Well, it hadn't been a badly smelling scent... but somehow terribly boring, such a common scent without special characteristics, which you could practically forget right after spraying on. Well... here comes White Moss & Snowdrop. Let's see what he smells like. Hmm... Snowdrop means snowdrops, and snowdrops sounds almost like snowdrops... It's almost Christmas :D
And don't worry, even if I should be a bit more cheeky (or perverted :D) here sometimes, I won't deface the song "Snowflake, White Skirt..." like Charlie Harper from the series "Two and a Half Men", in which I sing like him like this: "Snowflake, up the skirt!.." :DDD

Hey hey, so, but now for the fragrance, and hope that we will all see at least a few flakes of snow this year,... and hopefully for Christmas... *sigh*

The fragrance:
The fragrance begins with moss, which seems a little like oakmoss to me, and therefore smells so good to me. Then it gets a little spicier on my skin (on paper the moss looks stronger and longer), while the moss softens a bit, then I smell the great citrus notes. The citrus fruits, i.e. Clementine and Petitgrain (for the sake of simplicity I will now only add oranges to it, as you can't really tell the difference between Clementine and Petitgrain anyway and the scent smells more like oranges anyway) don't smell citrus-prickling fresh here, but simply warm and beautiful like oranges, which remind of the wonderful Orange Bitters (also by Jo Malone, also limited,... unfortunately!), but here are much lighter and with less intensity, however, they are much lighter and less intense.
Snowdrops provide for a light, flowery and also sweet note, smell nice, but are slightly weak. The later sweetness of the fragrance comes mainly from the amber.
Towards the base, the scent remains as described, but the scents become weaker and weaker. Only the moss seems to be a little bit stronger than the other fragrances and therefore stands out from time to time. I can only smell the tonka bean, which is indicated, very little, and only if I sniff very close to the sprayed place. However, one notices that the tonka bean makes the scent softer and slightly more powdery. A beautiful fragrance, nothing new, but once again something rather unusual by Jo Malone, in my opinion anyway.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
Hm, because the fragrance can be used well in autumn and winter, the Sillage could have been stronger. That's how you have to get closer to smell the scent. A little too bad, but still okay.
The shelf life is slightly longer than eight hours, but after about five hours it becomes rapidly weaker. That's the way it was with me.

The bottle:
At first glance, the bottle looks like any other Jo Malone bottle, even though the fragrance is limited (because limited bottles always have a different colour or special design). When you take a closer look, however, you notice that the bottle has a shiny surface that refracts the light in all the colors of the rainbow, which is very nice and you constantly catch yourself playing around with the bottle under the light all the time, so you can see the great, colorful reflecting lights :) The knob-like lid is also gold-plated instead of chrome-plated. And also the label is brighter, because the frame and the writing are also slightly gold-plated. It's a nice bottle. Like almost all limited edition bottles by Jo Malone.

Well... yeah, the scent's not bad. I don't necessarily have to have this one now, but it smells good, and is much better than the last Jo Malone fragrance, the Honeysuckle & Davana, which, as written at the beginning, was somehow so boringly boring for nothing, so in my opinion anyway, and was therefore more of a fragrance, which at most would have to be quite nice when layered with other Malones. By the way, I haven't commented on the scent yet, well, maybe it will come someday.

But back to this scent here. Like I said, it's not bad. It's nothing exciting new, but it's quite unusual for a Jo Malone fragrance, because I haven't had such a fragrance from this label in my nose for a long time, which reminds me of classic, more mature fragrances with its oakmoss note. I also like the warm citrus orange and neroli note here very much. It reminded me a little of Orange Bitters, which is even more beautiful for me than this fragrance here and would be very recommendable. Orange Bitters is also limited, but as far as I know it is back in stores for the Christmas business.

The scent is already unisex. Whereby, this actually fluctuates during the course of the fragrance :D
Because when spraying, it almost looks like a classic men's fragrance to me. Over time it becomes softer and slightly more flowery and then appears more feminine. In the end I smell more moss again, so that he becomes a little more masculine again. I think both sexes could do something with the scent. Maybe you can lay it out with Orange Bitters? It'd be worth a test. And the smell here would also be worth a test, could possibly please some :)

So... that's it. Everybody have a nice evening and don't forget: Hope for a white Christmas. Of course all those who don't feel like scratching ice or something will certainly hope against it... *sigh* :DD

Fresh Oriental
Never thought that this would work: oriental and yet fresh. An atypical and yet special Malone. Shelf life with me approx. 8 hours, he holds out with me longer than the other Malone's. You can't expect something like Wood Sage & Seasact or White Jasmin & Mint. ;-)

A modern chypre interpretation. After a delicate start, the sweet-bitter-mossy base wins with a slight retro vibe.
