Rock Me Amadeus!
About adjusted (designer) fragrances one often gets a bit nostalgic and even easily transfigured. Average scents, which may even have been cut off completely rightly, are quickly lifted into the sky, painfully mourned, and vast amounts of coal are hewn out for leftovers. You just want to have what you can't have (anymore). Is it the same with this Joop darling? Or has Joop pulled the plug too hasty here?
"Rococo For Men" is not a fresh fragrance, but its aura is still fully caught up in the 90s. Which is not a bad thing at first. It is a creamy-fruity wood caress, a signature scent with twisted eyes. Ordinary and slightly extroverted at the same time. Hard to describe. Certainly not a big hit like "Nachtflug" or the still radiant pink giant of the traditional German brand. But definitely not worthy of a snapshot either. Basically even a very interesting, independent and different scent. Juniper berry and mahogany fill the frame and belly, the rest plays only second fiddle. It's as if you wanted to grow a clear, brown wood scent with the highly pitched and sparkling "Nightflight" DNA. A middle finger in a tutu. Warm and spicy. From sour fruit (strawberry!?) to pepper and salt. There is a lot on the table. And yet so mixed and blended that it looks like a grey slug. And even that is not necessarily meant badly. A very ambivalent experience. "Nemo" meets "Eau de Cade". Even pencil-like floral components can't be smelled. I'm torn. Between, "Nah, move on!" and "Oh, how great. Want you and carry you!". Either way, he wouldn't be worth moon prizes to me
Flacon: rather ugly, I would think. Or convenient Sillage: due to its peculiarities it is easily recognizable and smelling. Worthy of signature.
Shelf life: 6 hours you can let it be tasted

Bottom line, a real weirdo... no wonder he didn't survive long. But it's a shame, too... A creamy chameleon. Dull and hyperactive at the same time.
