Coconut and honeydew melon ice cream
Maybe I'm biased because I first tried and then bought this on holidays, but in my opinion this is one of the best VLJ flankers and really smells like 100% pure summer fun.
This is bursting with sweet fruits, especially coconut. It's a creamy, edible coconut milk note that is only lightly adorned with beachy florals. It makes the honeydew smell like a creamy melon flavored ice cream. Mandarin adds a fresh sparkle to the composition and the slightest hint of salty driftwood makes it more sensual and skin-like.
The Juicy DNA is definitely there, this has that characteristic caramel backbone that always reminds me of a glossy hard candy. It also has the same juicy-fruity freshness as the original. But all in all it's different enough to own it even if you already have others from this line. Compared to the original VLJ or VLJ Noir this is fruitier, creamier, warmer and devoid of the sharp, clean honeysuckle.
I wore this on the hottest day ever recorded in my city, at 38+°C, when the air smelled like everything could spontaneously combust at any moment. It was still pleasantly sweet and not cloying.
By the way, I find the big bottle with the giant metallic bow a bit bizarre. I have a 30 ml and it has a regular fabric bow, which is a bit larger than on the other JC bottles, and it looks much cuter.
