of almost virgin purity
In my childhood there was only one sort of paper handkerchiefs that came in the blue-white pack.
When one opened it, a light, fine scent emanated from it, which I recognize today as lavender; at that time it was a synonym for purity for me.
However, I have to say that as a child I did not think this of course, but felt it more.
I felt comfortable in this fragrance and was always disappointed when my mother insisted on the use of handkerchiefs - probably also for cost reasons.
And it was exactly this feeling that came up immediately when I first met "Al Jawhara".
I had chosen this bottling from the "To go" fundus of a very dear perfumista because of the very appealing sounding base note, but now this overall feeling of purity delights me.
Not this fresh "hello awake" purity, which is often a bit too cheerful, loud and biting for me, but rather the feeling that freshly washed laundry dried in air and sun gives.
This mixture of sandalwood and cedarwood (both have their permanent places on my personal favourites list) and the amber I discovered not so long ago, is very skilfully composed.
Balanced and refined, completely without corners and edges, of surprising softness, a beautiful fragrance develops with me.
Only then do the lavender, of the delicate, not so herbaceous kind, and the mimosa, which I like very much, lift their heads; they seem to smile at me lovingly.
Also here the "less" seems to me to be a "more": nothing is loud or rough; on the contrary!
The "hearty" oud component appears more of a by-product.
However, I have to mention again and again that I do not develop too much body heat; this may cause a certain change in the course of fragrance development.
This fragrance is soft and soft to the touch and caresses me. I feel it like a feather-light, tender touch of surprisingly long durability.
Still after hours this fine veil envelops me very pleasant.
The appealingly beautiful bottle is of course also a welcome addition and ornament to any collection of these magical bottles.
"Al Jawhara" is certainly not a spectacular fragrance that follows the mainstream or occupies one of the many niches.
It is a quiet, fine fragrance, which caresses its wearer without excitement and without attracting attention.
Therefore also ideal on days when we have the feeling that our poor skin, maltreated by life, needed a soft and cuddly veil to protect it from everyday life.
Here it is the soft, fine tones that determine the music - combined to an extremely harmonic composition.
I like to listen to this melody, which is always very welcome
