Summer melody
It is already strange to me, this fragrance with its sparkling green essence, its light-footed liveliness: perhaps a little too fresh, a little too green and too restless for me today as an old woman, because I have only just encountered "Parfum d'Été".
But it is beautiful and has a charm of its own, this composition by Kenzo, in which a pleasing melody is created from summery fragrance notes, which develops into an entertaining companion, perhaps even a kind of "earworm" over the course of a day.
Like many creatures of the eighties and nineties, this one has passed me by and I am therefore delighted that we are meeting today.
A romantic summer love with all its buoyancy has been set in fragrance here:
Clear, sometimes bold colors and fragrance tones harmonize in fresh, down-to-earth lily of the valley leaf green, spicy hyacinth violet and pink, the feathery peony blossom variety, together with a sensual exuberance of white jasmine flowers.
They all rest on a spicy sandalwood-patterned musk blanket.
over the course of its fragrance, "Parfum d'Été" becomes a watercolor in the fragrance, too spicy and too brightly colored for a pastel idyll, but extremely lively and sparkling like the first glass of Prosecco of the still young summer and the playfulness of the first flirtation of this so promising season:
They are all wonderfully exciting and make you want more!
Kenzo's "Parfum d'Été" was created at a time when, even for this summery "love song in fragrance", great importance was attached to craftsmanship, and therefore also to sillage and longevity.
It was not just anything - surviving only one summer season - that was stirred together, but a careful and appreciative approach to the future wearer, so that each fragrance note in this composition is in the place from which it can best accompany and support the entire fragrance song:
"Parfum d'Été" is full of radiant summer and resembles a beautiful, timeless melody that the lark could sing in the morning.
That is why it is still loved and worn even after more than twenty years.
Curious as I am, I wanted to test its summer feeling just once, but then received a whole flacon of this summery creation from a dear perfumer in her extraordinary flacon.
As described at the beginning, this beauty is too green, too lively - simply too strange for me; the two of us are not a good match in terms of type! But as we all know, every pot has a lid that fits:
A lover met "Parfum d'Été" while strolling through my collection, left a corresponding note and today the parcel with this "summer melody" that has become a fragrance and another of my "less beloved children" (there are also these fragrances: beautiful, but alien in nature) is going on its journey and will be appreciated in the future as every fragrance deserves.
These treasures from another, unforgotten time should be loved and cherished and, if possible, placed in the right hands, on the right skin:
They want to be worn, lived!
And that is why I am delighted that "Parfum d'Été" is leaving today for a hopefully happy future:
Love, in whatever form, and summer fragrance are timeless!
Once again we see:
With so many creations from the eighties and nineties, not all of them could survive, but the fragrances we encounter today are witnesses to a generous, colorful and lively era that we remember fondly.
We should take good care of them!
