Soft focus and romantic, Au bord de l'Eau is a rendition of Après l'Ondée.
The difference is, Au bord de l'Eau uses lemon and bergamot to structure the marzipan-violet requiem. It's sad, but has a dignified poise that keeps the sorrow at bay.
These slight changes make Fabrice Pellegrin's homage (if that's what this is) harder and fizzy, more wearable in the everyday, not just for wakes and funerals.
It's a good thing that l'Artisan have done this, I love Après l'Ondée but it's too lugubrious most of the time.
Keep Après l'Ondée for funerals . Wear Au bord de l'Eau in the garden - and feel happy to be alive.
