in a frenzy of perfume
Peonies: their large, heavy flower heads - some almost feathery, some with golden stamens, but always beautiful to look at.
For me, they have been a symbol of early summer for many years; they arouse expectations, quiet longings and seduce into fragrant dream realms.
In former times there were big bouquets every year for my birthday; still with much leaves, they were cut only in the morning and simply in bundles, tied with simple cord or later with adhesive tape, from the flower market hall fetched and referred with me the large matt-blue floor vase.
Their scent was so intoxicating that these bouquets regularly had to spend the nights on the balcony.
The charm of these red-flowered beauties was captured by L'Artisan Parfumeur in "Haute Voltige".
Already the first drop awakens memories, evokes pictures of the first warm sunny days and blooming farm gardens in me.
This tumbling scent of heavy, red flowers on dark green can both enchant and safely crush or even beat to death or repel.
Those who love peonies are first fascinated: their lively, vibrating grace has been captured in the bottle!
But it is not only the flower weight of the peony that makes this fragrance special.
