Lemon cream, but sometimes sunscreen
There's not anything wrong with this fragrance except the fact that it borders too much on the functional aspect of sunscreen to me. Other than that, this one is gentle, discrete and lovely (if it wasn't for the sunscreen vibe I get). Lemon and bergamot give it a sweet, fruity vibe while ylang-ylang becomes the star on my skin. It's a carnal flower, well-rounded, a bit thick, tropical and ever so fruity. This is probably the main culprit for the sunscreen vibe. Mimosa adds a bit of sweetness to everything while benzoin gives it warmth and deepness. Vanilla appears at the end, imparting the distinct sweetness we've all come to love with vanilla notes. At times it does smell like lemon and cream and at other moments, the scent shifts towards this tropical fruity sunscreen.
It's a pleasant fragrance, one that can be worn during summer for that extra warm, your-skin-but-better vibe. It,s pretty linear and lacks a bit of that oomph I'm searching for which is why it won't be added to my collection. Nonetheless, L'Artisan Parfumeur has created a good niche perfume that steers more towards the mainstream crowd. A nice crowd pleaser.
