Dive down briefly in the sunny south
The sun is burning. The sky is cloudless and a long and wonderful day is waiting for me in paradise. I have made myself comfortable on my deck chair and watch the people at the pool. In my back I hear the laughter of children. No wonder. The pool for the little ones is right behind me. With a whoop it goes down the slide, then we climb up again and - yippee - downhill!
I only need to walk a few steps and see the sea. I can clearly smell the salty sea air and the water plants. A fishy smell is not perceptible today, apparently the fishing boats were already outside at an early hour.
At the small beach bar there is fresh fruit and of course cocktails. As I am on holiday, I exceptionally allow myself a delicious cocktail already at this time. I decide to have a Pina Colada that the nice Spaniard prepares from fresh pineapple juice. A good portion of rum, a straw and not to forget the obligatory colourful umbrella.
With my cocktail I sit down at the pool and let my legs dangle in the water. Everywhere in the air is the smell of sun milk. Many tourists have chosen this dark brown suntan oil, which promises a particularly strong tan. I personally prefer a high sun protection factor, but my sun milk with SPF 50 also smells of coconut.
Around the pool, the landscape gardeners have planted hedges and bushes whose flowers have a beguiling scent. I close my eyes and dive for a while.
While sniffing Soleil Infidèle, I was actually at the pool of my favourite hotel in Ibiza for a moment. Actually, I find this fragrance far too floral, too coconut-laden and too sweet. But to dream oneself away a little in these difficult times, it fits perfectly.
The fragrance presents itself from the start with an intense coconut scent. The citric notes provide a certain effervescence. A bit of tropical feeling is brought by orchid and jasmine, and I also have the feeling of smelling ylang-ylang (probably from coconut water). Fortunately, the aquatic part is rather discreet for my nose and without any fishiness. I mean, also to sniff rum and pineapple. The scent ends with amber and vanilla with a fine sweetness - somewhere between Pina Colada and "Hawaiian Tropic" sun oil. Soleil Infidèle is certainly not a particularly sophisticated and complex fragrance now, but olfactorically it conjures up the perfect idyll of a summer holiday. Something we can all use at some point in the summer of 2020. Even if it's just for a few minutes in between.
