"The One" for advanced students
I would like to thank the noble donor for the test sample.

To cut a long story short: In my opinion, this fragrance does everything right that went wrong for me at D&G's "The One" (the women's version). It's still not the kind of fragrance that I'm totally flying on but I really liked Ultimate Seduction.

Fruity prelude as you know it from The One, but with a citric splash on top. What's the scent pyramid hiding from us again? It is too strong for bergamot, not bitter enough for grapefruit, not soft enough for neroli. Lime smells different too... Unfortunately I can't think of it, but it goes well with the top note because it doesn't get too sweet. I don't have the ice cream spilling kid that got me on The One. Nevertheless Ultimate Seduction is also a real sweet beak. If you don't like it, hands off!

The flowers in the heart note are heavy and sweet but well balanced. None really stands out, only the sweet orange is still there. But luckily it doesn't smell like Fanta.

The creamy base is also quite similar to the D&G fragrance. There's vanilla cream in here, chocolate and amber here. Maybe it's the combination that reminds me a lot of tonka bean and it smells similar to vanilla. (oh, it's complicated!).

The beauty here is that it's not so sweetened. NO overripe plum, no luxuriant vanilla cream, instead Ultimate Seduction becomes a bit bitter with the vetiver at the end. It doesn't fit at all, you'd think, but here it rounds off the scent pretty cheeky. A nice surprise.

What I have to criticize, however, are durability and Sillage. After an hour, the scent becomes relatively close. Although we're supposed to be dealing with an extrait here. Especially in view of the price this is somehow unsatisfactory.

Nevertheless, I would recommend Ultimate Seduction to all those who like sweet-fruity-creamy gourmand scents but were overwhelmed with The One. I know that reviews shouldn't be based only on comparisons with other fragrances, but here it really imposes itself on me. The two fragrances are very similar. But while The One is McDonalds' dessert in a plastic cup, Ultimate Seduction is the dessert you get served in a noble restaurant.
