Holy Lord!!! Warm, Sweet and Smokey
Holy Lord!!! This fragrance is so amazing! It will quickly be in my top ten for winter fragrances. It like a warm sweet and Smokey hug that warps you up and protects you from the winters cold. I can’t stop smelling myself. This is an 11 / 10 for me hands down. If you enjoy sweet vanilla and amber mixed with incense then grab this juice. Well worth the value in terms of cost. Has good projection and longevity too. Can’t ask for more. Highly recommend.

One for pop-cold days
Yesterday I tested some scents again and - bang - got stuck with Eau de Baux. L'Occitane en Provence, those are fine fragrances. I recently discovered it again, when I had Verveine Menthe under my nose, which has now moved in with me (thanks dear Floyd!!).

Eau de Baux was one of them, too, so I just thought "beautiful". I would have liked it especially for my better half, because the start is already strong and spicy. It can't just be cardamom. I mean, to clearly perceive cloves. But maybe I'm just imagining it because I ate red cabbage with cloves yesterday. Since winter is coming back to us (at least in terms of temperature), red cabbage fits quite well, as does a fragrance with cloves. The spices also make me think of winter and Christmas. There I am completely with the previous speakers. It belongs to cuddling in the Advent season. Just fits perfectly
Since my husband let me know that he was far too sweet for him, I thought, okay, bad luck. You're probably gonna have to buy it yourself if you want it. So this morning, I took two shots for my run. Actually I don't wear any scents when I run, but the curiosity was too big how he wears himself and since it's so freezing cold, I don't smell much anyway - neither of nature nor of eau de baux. Wrong thought. After the carnations have spoiled at some point, a note comes through that makes me think of Roma by Laura Biagiotti. Shit, Roma of all people? The vanilla-tonka note is processed here in a similar way to the great classic of Biagiotti. Unfortunately I don't have a very good relationship to Roma, see my comment on that, but that's not what this is about. So I run on and let the fragrance develop. On the warm skin it sits down and ends in a wonderful base that almost makes me dream.

When I am at home, I finally understand why I find this base of Eau de Baux so delicious. The base smells exactly like Paname by Keiko Mecheri, one of my favourite fragrances, which unfortunately is no longer available. For comparison, I sprayed on Paname after showering and after 1-2 hours I have exactly this wonderful vanilla, slightly chocolaty note. Yes, the Eau de Baux has chocolate for my nose as well, there I am at SchatzSucher with the hot cocoa. Fits absolutely perfect. Since I still have a bunker bottle from Paname and I won't run out of fragrance any time soon, I don't need the Eau de Baux for the time being. I also like the top and heart notes of Paname better. If one would have been really one for my beloved, I would steal some sprayers every now and then, when I feel like it. But for me, a bottle is not worth it. I can do without the cloves (they go better with my red cabbage) and for the vanilla-chocolate base I already have Paname.

Still a great scent for the winter as well as popo-cold days after the beginning of summertime, like now. Fits for me better to the men than to the girls, because it starts already very spicy, but also for girls it is great to wear. Sillage and durability are in the moderate, pleasant range. Many thanks to AdAstra72 for the sample.

Great for cuddly winter days!
A superbly balanced mix, starting out with vanilla and a slight incense, followed within half an hour by the cypress coming through adding a tobacco-ish vibe to the mix.
EXCELLENT for colder days. Projection is great for the first couple of hours and longevity goes for 5-6 hours, which is really good going on my dry skin.

The tonka and cinnamon vibe delivers a gourmand-like touch. Slightly unisex and could easily be worn by girls too, but most guys can pull this off without any problems.

Overall - smooth and very pleasing, just a great scent!!

From male to female?
Eau des Baux was a blind purchase - this time unfortunately one of the more disappointing variety. EdB doesn't smell bad at all.

The bottle doesn't come off very well here on the site - I think it's great. I like the straightforward design and it fulfils its purpose perfectly. Maybe it is a little old-fashioned, but that it looks cheap - as I have read several times - I wouldn't sign it like this.

To be honest, I find it a little difficult to classify myself as a men's fragrance. In many places the fragrance has been described as not too sweet - I find it quite sweet from the beginning. Too sweet.

Directly after the spraying it is actually quite spicy with me first of all, in a pleasant way... Is that the pink pepper I perceive there? I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't know. Definitely not bad. However, I already perceive the scent at this point as not particularly masculine and it comes closer than now to what I imagine a men's scent to be, in its course no longer ran.

Rather the opposite: the scent becomes softer with time, I don't notice too much of the incense I was looking forward to and after a few hours there is hardly more than a sweet vanilla scent left on my skin. To be honest, I wouldn't classify this rest as unisex anymore, but as female. Reminds me of the girls we were partying with during my studies, but my memory might be playing tricks on me (or did they have Eau des Baux?! :D).

In any case: Not a bad smell, I like the presentation, but - as in the former statement - it's nothing for me.

A bottled pleasure
Well, I simply loved this perfume. It is a woody water of smoked cypress, with a sweet background of vanilla and tonka, very warm and cozy.

The start is very fresh and spicy, it feels, very soft in the background, a sweet vanilla, where they play, a jovial and fresh cardamom, with a fruity and spicy pink pepper, and even the first slight nuances of cypress, recreating a sweet aroma , fresh and slightly woody. Then, the cypress and incense claim their prominence, and offer us a fragrance show, a smoky cypress bathed in a soft and warm elixir of tonka and vanilla. This part of the perfume is beautiful, and we could even say that it has a certain resemblance to Encre Noire, although here, the cypress, is executed in a warmer and sweeter way. The final drying is a balm of tonka and vanilla, with a slight shade of cypress, which is suspended ethereally in the aroma, a preciousness.

Despite being an oriental with a background of vanilla and tonka, at no time it becomes cloying or excessively sweet, on the contrary, it enjoys a fairly fresh and pleasant execution. A very versatile and bearable aroma, the perfect complement, that you can wear at any time or time of day, since, it adapts very well to any situation or climate, except for the summer, where I do not think it hits for its warmth.

The performance in me has been good, nothing exceptional, but very compliant, getting to stay in skin for 7 hours with a moderate wake from the start.

I have read in many places that it is very similar to Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, and in my humble opinion, I can tell you that not even remotely, perhaps in its warmth, but even for that, it is an aroma with its own soul and very well executed.

A bottle of Eau de Kuschel please....
We're all very familiar with that: You go out and buy something nice for at home, for slipping in or out and that is the absolute hit. That can be a sweater, a pair of trousers or maybe even a nice blanket and this part is so incredibly comfortable, fluffy, cuddly and so wonderful that you never want to take it off again.
Clothes, in which one can live, I always use to say.

But it can also go well with a fragrance. So I recently got a taste of Eau des Baux (thanks my dear Schoork für´s Fixing, that was a direct hit).
I already knew the brand L´Occitane en Provence, but never bought any products. And that one also produces scents there, I knew only by the way.
But then I read some comments here, which are more than benevolent, and in addition I heard that Karstadt reduced the scents of L´Occitane by 30%. That was a hint with the fence post. Nothing like a bottle and I could still get hold of it on the offer table.
I haven't tested before. There was no tester, but I knew I'd like the scent. And that was completely confirmed. What a pleasant, cosy, cozy scent you just want to sink into, loll, purr and enjoy There is such a wonderful not too strong basic sweetness by tonka bean and vanilla, which are noticeable already very early. That radiates such a nice warmth. There is a spicy spiciness, a beautiful combination of cardamom and pepper, but not pungent but discreet. Frankincense brings a refined slightly smoky touch and does not let the scent become too sweet. The course does not undergo too great a change, it becomes somewhat spicier in the course of time.
The whole thing looks so round and pleasant that I have to sniff myself again and again.

I'm lying on my couch on an uncomfortable rainy autumn day in November (it will soon be back again), in my farthest and most comfortable clothes, XXXXXXL pullover, ultra-wide pants, thick socks, a giant pot of cocoa is on the table, lightly seasoned with cinnamon, cardamom, carnation, nutmeg and other autumn-winter ingredients, a large piece of juicy honey cake, candlelight, beautiful music and I am happy not to have anything to do and enjoy life. Unfortunately I don't have a fireplace, but it would fit well to the mood.
And then this wonderfully cuddly Eau des Baux... And I don't like getting off the couch anymore. But who will bring me another piece of pie??

The whole pleasant pleasure lasts about 6 hours, then the scent gently and quietly disappears like the candle flame, which will slowly go out. On the clothes it lasts even longer.
Should someone be there to snuggle up, Eau des Baux would also be well noticed, but it is by no means obtrusive. On the contrary, the pleasant scent would transfer its cuddly atmosphere to the cuddly partner. You just feel good all around.

The bottle is so simple that one could not even guess that it contains such a great fragrance. He could be from the pharmacy. But it depends on the content. And in my eyes or my nose everything is right.

I will spend today's Sunday, which looks quite grey, with some small household duties and later I will feel like a giant pot of cocoa and cake. And maybe even to cuddle....

Cosiness in bottles
Sometimes I'm creative when I write comments, but this scent just lets me rest in myself.

If there is a scent that radiates cosiness, then probably this one. When I first tested it on paper, I thought of sun milk, but I had to revise it, because it works differently on the skin
I felt reminded quite easily of the smell of warm rice pudding, which is probably the vanilla guilt I assume, along with the incense. I only like cold rice pudding, but I like the smell when it's warm.
But the whole fragrance is so homey, cuddly, soft and pleasant to wear.
A warm fragrance that is never too intrusive Cardamom at the beginning I notice, the pepper so completely easily, then it goes over relatively fast to the incense, paired with tonka bean and vanilla.

I think he even helps against stress, because he just has such a calm and warm aura, that fascinated me honestly.

On the paper reminiscent of sun milk, I still thought it could be worn in summer, but only up to 15-18 degrees. In principle I would also revise that.

I think on a rainy autumn day it's an ideal scent, maybe even in winter by the fireplace.
The shelf life is okay with just 5-6h.

The bottle reminds me of medicine, but I think it's quite ok.

If you're looking for perfumes for every occasion, you can hook up here when it comes to cuddling.

I'll definitely get it when summer's over!

Real Quality...
I am so pleasantly surprised by this one. Eau des Baux strikes me as a fragrance which is worth a lot more than it's price tag. Extremely well made, to a level beyond what is expected from a house such as L'Occitane. It is a sweet, herbal woody scent which is reminiscent of other woody orientals (notably Tobacco Vanille). There is little not to like here, as it is warm, soft and never too loud. I find it strikes just the right balance of each note and works beautifully throughout the day.

I get the cypress, a wonderfully green and also dry herbal note, mixed with tonka bean and incense. The dryness comes from the woods, incense and cypress, with a hint of herbal background, and the sweetness, which is almost honey-like, comes from the vanilla and tonka bean.

I really think that, as a masculine fragrance, you cannot go wrong. It could even work on a daring lady. Eau des Baux really is phenomenal when you consider the price it costs. I think that people who like the honey, tobacco like fragrances, or woody orientals in general, will like this. Otherwise I would recommend trying this first. Another aspect which I like about L'Occitance is that they offer matching products to this, and I tried out the shower gel before trying this, which in itself has a fantastic aroma and feel. Overall, I cannot recommend this highly enough, for lovers of dry, herbal, woody orientals etc. Really nice. Lovely!

Amazing, mysterious, first class
A scent, as it stands in (nature) beech. The mixture of cypress and frankincense in the main theme gives an astonishing aroma of itself that I have not yet smelled SO.
The small "introduction" with cardamom and pepper gives only a vague idea of what a first-class "lecture" a "professor of fragrances" follows.
Gently lulling with warm voice and smoky undertone. Green in the theme but also to one of the foremothers / fathers of the fragrance art, the incense leaned against and very mysterious, almost mystical, radiating.
Eau Des Baux" is not bound to any gender. (I generally don't assign fragrances to a "sex", but distinguish between e.g. "sweet, flowery" and "rough, woody". Or "light, aquatic" and "dark, smoky")
"Eau des Baux" has something slightly dark and smoky, but is also woody-vanilla with a hint of "healthy spice", which gives the fragrance something "noble" and a large portion of timelessness.
My nose, which knows many, many fragrances, can still be inspired and almost captured when the "fragrance theme",

The best L'Occitane for men
By chance I came across this fragrance 2 years ago and am currently already at the 2nd bottle. Since then it has been my daily standard perfume, which I simply never have enough of. It is not so easy to find a perfume that can be worn in all situations (summer, winter, work, leisure, ...).
L'Occitane did it with that perfume! Even if the fragrance reminds a little of autumn, it is, in my opinion, quite suitable in summer. Maybe it's also because I think the fragrance is so incredibly good.

The fragrance is woody, soft (vanilla) and a little peppery - but never too much and it comes across very natural and elegant. It is extremely uncomplicated and due to the not too strong Sillage you can wear the fragrance in many situations without any problems.

Conclusion: Great P/L for a super fragrance. Good job, man.

Spices, warm vanilla, incense and a Cypress hint.
A sweet manly vanilla scent and not the sweet fruit cake nausea of 5X the cost fragrances.
