Would-be Oud
Some time ago my dear Serafina sent me a bunch of samples of oriental scents. (thanks again at this point). I can hardly get enough of oud, sandalwood, amber, patchouli... The heavier, the better. I would like to report about this fine would-be Oud now.
It's not that unusual that fragrances have not listed the oud as an ingredient at all, but still smell like it. It's all a question of the station wagon. So also here.
Right at the beginning, I smell this faked oud note. It runs through the entire course of the fragrance, but with a more experienced nose it can be quite easily aifdröseln.
Sandalwood with some incense, benzoin, labdanum and some leather... Very well blended. Oud, too creamy to be true. But it doesn't matter because it smells really nice.
Lemon and pepper in the prelude hold themselves back nicely. Also the few flowers in the heart note are only decorative accessories. So all those who are fed up with roses -uds don't have to worry here.
Bois de Oud becomes both sweeter and more incense-rich in the course of its fragrance. And equally balanced. He never tips over in one direction.
But what I really like most about this fragrance and what makes it really extraordinary is the animalic note that covers the whole thing. Beaver horny and (dirty, rocked) leather. I think it's more like Zibet (another would-be fragrance hereztztz...). That's really something else! But even the little animal doesn't completely assimilate now. In comparison to the classic fragrances from the 80s, it's very nice here. You never get the impression you're dealing with a scent from the 80s.
I like the station wagon. For me, Bois de Oud is what I understand by a consistently successful scent composition. Like an orchestral work with many different instruments playing in harmony. Nevertheless, the fragrance is not a light food. Anyone who is not also halfway surefooted in the fancy Orientals should test the fragrance before buying.
Sillage is actually a little too weak for me for the winter. With 0 degrees, winter jacket and wind, I don't notice it anymore. Not even if I put Serafina's little sample on it all of a sudden. Too bad because the overall impression of the fragrance is quite vibrant - warm and homey - fluffy. Kitty cat in front of the fireplace, fleece print and benzoe-scented candle included. But just indoor. It lasts the whole day.
Very big test recommendation here! Girls and boys of all ages.
