Star Anise does the trick
With Star Anise and Heliotrope it can not go all wrong. Miracle Forever is a great flanker of the lovely Miracle, with six years between the two. MF is somehow fresher where Miracle is more sweet and fruity. The star anise lifts the fragrance from a beautiful sweet floral to a bit more spicy and interesting. And that does the trick for me. Without the star anise it would have been a bit dull.
The two scents have so little in common that it is most likely that Lancôme wanted to ride in the wave of success instead of giving MF its own name. This is probably not the first time in history, but I think it is a pity, because MF is a really great scent that deserves it own name. It has good longevity and sillage is perfect for such a light scent. It warms up slowly and ends in a deep pool of woods and spices. It is suitable for many occasions.
So why why why… discontinued and I only have two miniatures. Sad but true. Not fair.

A beautiful fragrance that has unfortunately been discontinued
I came across an original manufacturer's sample of Miracle Forever at a collection liquidation. In the end, I really like the fragrance. However, the longevity on my skin is weaker than the average value on Parfumo would suggest. After about 2-3 hours, it smells quite close to the skin. After 6-7 hours, despite the rather weak sillage, you can still perceive some of the scent. I know the opposite from older fragrances.

The top note starts off creamy, sweet, powdery and vanilla-like. I also recognize peonies, star anise and some cassis. The creaminess increases in the heart note and makes me think of almond milk. Thanks to heliotrope and lily of the valley, floral notes remain. The base remains creamy and powdery, but also smells woody and balsamic like amber and cedarwood.

The fragrance is really beautiful, feminine, not overpowering and very suitable for everyday wear. Too bad it is no longer officially available.

Gourmand miracle
Miracle Forever is to me a lighter and more floral version of Innocent by Thierry Mugler.

The scent is indeed very sweet. It would appeal to those that love their sugary-sweet gourmands.

The opening of blackcurrant, peony and star anise is a little too strong, however very pleasant. As the scent wears on, it gradually becomes lighter and more feminine with the introduction of soft florals like mimose, almond blossom, heliotrope and lily-of-the-valley.

The drydown is what bears a striking resemblance to Thierry Mugler's creations. The vanilla, patchouli, amber and incense, together with a hidden chocolatey accord, is very much like the famous gourmand, Angel. A little off-putting to think of Miracle Forever as a blatant copy.

The lasting strength was pretty good, well over six hours, yet the sillage was rather weak. However this fragrance may be a wonderful, cheaper alternative to Innocent and Angel and even more appealing to those that wanted something lighter than the two fragrances aforementioned.

Miracle’s sweet and fun sister
Miracle Forever has quite different personality from its predecessor, Miracle. If Miracle was an elegant lady, beautiful but reserved then Miracle Forever is a bold and flamboyant girl who loves to party and have fun. Miracle Forever is a night out scent for me but not for a formal black-tie event, classical opera or a ballroom but more for a carnival or salsa dance party. The scent is super sweet, strong, gourmand, yummy and delicious all the way. I get lots of compliments on this one.

Miracle Forever has a strong presence, like many other Dominique Ropion’s and Olivier Polge's creations. The sillage and longevity are monstrous. I think that the composition put together well and interesting enough to bring it to the top 10 of my sweet bombs collection. I like the star anise note in the opening, which brings an exciting twist to otherwise simple notes of sugar sweet berries and flowers. The heart of this fragrance is an intense, thick and super sweet floral explosion. The heliotrope is syrupy sweet (in a good way) and holds the composition nicely together. The patchouli note is noticeable right from the start and lingers in the background from the beginning till the end. Unlike in Angel, the patchouli here is well-behaved and a team player giving the chance to other components to shine. The vanilla becomes even stronger in the dry down mixing with the patchouli and amber notes.

This scent is definitely sweet flowers and patchouli bomb, so if you are not into those then this is not for you. But as I do love sweet fragrances when I am in the mood for them, I am glad I have this one in my collection. It is pleasant to wear but please use in moderation as it is potent.
