Perfumery antidepressant
It should be a new summer scent. Maybe something citrusy that gives freshness even on hot days. Soon I came across a perfume that seemed to me to be extremely suitable in this sense: O de l'Orangerie by Lancome. It's described as citric-fresh. I imagined the scent to be quite wonderful - like a walk through a grove full of ripe, juicy oranges, grapefruit, mandarins and lemons that exude their delicious scents ...
I enter the perfumery expectantly. Yeah, there they are, the Lancomes. I've known O de Lancome for many years. It is already several times bought back regular guest in my collection. Right next to it: O de l'Orangerie. I spray it on my hand - and I'm disappointed. No fresh citrus scent blows around me, as expected, but a true Neroli orgy. Somehow the bittersweet orange blossoms and I have never been quite compatible. I'll make another attempt with O d'Azur. It's an aquatic scent. Not what I had in mind.
Out of pure curiosity I also try O oui!, because the tester is just standing around so inviting. Then I leave the perfumery, still sniffing at the three scents sprayed on and perhaps hoping that the O de l'Orangerie might turn into a fresh citrus scent after all. But it doesn't. Okay. (laughs) Check.
While O de l'Orangerie and O d'Azur do not meet my expectations at all, I find the O oui! more and more interesting. I have to sniff it all the time. Unlike the other O's, it lasts longer too. Someday I'll think, "Oh, yeah." The scent has something. Something new, original, fascinating.
Is it fruity or flowery now? It's hard to decide. At first it appears dry without being powdery and pleasantly "unsweet". This ensures a refined freshness that is not limited to the mere aroma of lemon peel.
What I soon notice is that the fragrance brings a smile to my face as often as I notice it. He is described as sparkling, dynamic, cheerful and optimistic. That seems to be true. And perhaps precisely because I myself am about the opposite of everything that is attributed to this fragrance, it does me good. I find it encouraging and mood-enhancing. This eau de toilette spray should be available on prescription at the pharmacy, I think.
Lancome describes the fragrance not without reason as follows: "O Oui captures the optimistic spirit of youth with a fresh fragrance that awakens a positive, enthusiastic and youthful attitude towards life Oh, yes, I can confirm that. With O Oui! I immediately feel "more awake", even in the current heat that has been over Vienna for days. The scent gives you momentum. He has something transparent, light, light-hearted, without being everyday. It is discreet, but unmistakable. And lives from its unusual composition of fruits and flowers.
In the beginning the fruits clearly dominate. The composition is quite unusual: pineapple, mandarin and pear are in the top note a rendezvous. Crazy, somehow, it seems to me: a crazy, sparkling summer cocktail, whose spots on the i also form aquatic notes. Totally chaotic. But it's working. The purest serenity that spreads to the wearer.
After some time, graceful floral notes join the fruit mixture. My beloved lily of the valley have their appearance and the romantic peony. But the fragrance is never sweet, nostalgic or dreamy. He remains cheerful, playful, light and fresh.
At first I was a little disappointed by Sillage and durability. I would have liked to have seen more intensity. But it doesn't go with this lively fragrance. It is a light summer fragrance, an EdT spray that never wants to be intrusive, but rather sets fresh accents that last.
Perfumer Harry Frémont is here a very "contemporary", I would even say urban fragrance successful. Fruity notes, white flowers and aquatic nuances - that would have offered enough traps to fail. It takes a very safe nose to make a really remarkable, special fragrance out of it that simply convinces.
In the base note there is musk, which provides a sweet finish - a farewell kiss, so to speak, but which actually only prolongs and deepens the crispy fresh scent cocktail.
For me, the fragrance is an ideal summer fragrance, which accompanies me through my everyday life in a lively way.
The bottle holds 75 ml. There's, as far as I know, only this one size. I think it's perfect for the purse, to spray on. In terms of design, the bottle and packaging appear simple and simple, but strong in design and noble.
The fragrance has now been on the market for 20 years, but has lost none of its unbridled liveliness and youthful joie de vivre. If that's not a sign of quality?!
O oui!
"Say yes to the sparkling spirit of youth," advises Lancome. There's nothing left to add to that...?

Reinventing elation...
Back in 1969 Lancôme decided that the world was not as blithesome a place as it should be. Thus it created Ô and surfeited the air around us with squadron over squadron of tarty citruses. However, these were simply fighters escorting heavy bombers with fancy names like "Vetiver Raider", "Rosemary Bandit", "Coriander Brigand"and "Oakmoss Corsair" painted beneath their cockpits. But this fleet of notes acted rather as a distraction than destruction. What Lancôme actually launched was a neologism the likes of "heterogeneity". You see, I have yet to decide whether its vintage formulation is frolicsome or sexy as hell. Perhaps it's both. Perhaps Ô could replace its uncircumflexed [sic] cousin in "Histoire d'O".

Some 30 years later Lancôme thought it was time to upgrade its fleet of bliss. Thus it created an even more buoyant and feelgood fragrance, although such an endeavour seemed nigh impossible. The newcomer managed to leave all lurking bawdiness behind and set brand new felicity standards. And how could it be any different when an exclamatory enthusiastic affirmation in French is its answer to every question asked, no matter in what language?

Sind Sie der ewige glückselig Königin? Ô Oui!
¿Está la hija perdida del sol? Ô Oui!
Will you marry me, oh my bonnie lass? Ô Oui!
Mi vuoi prendere in tuo cosmo? Ô Oui!

Sometimes I think that some fragrances render the presence of a translater completely useless, for I believe that fragrance is actually some sort of wordless communication and a pretty succinct one for that matter. And what's more, it always lands its message, despite not a word being uttered. For your ears can play tricks on you sometimes but your nose is always dead right. I'm sure that all of you have misheard something at some point. Has any of you ever "missmelled" anything? Yeah, I thought so.

So, given that Ô Oui! is green as a spring meadow, piquant as an early bergamot and waggish as a drunken sprite, what are the chances for any girl or woman wearing it to be of the lugubrious kind? If your perfume smiles then you smile too, simple as that.

As a man of a rather sober mien, I simply love the way it can turn even bleak winter evenings into harbingers of sunny and carefree days, when my only concern would be how not to fall in love too many times. If Ô has been a lascivious frolicker and/or a rollicking lover, then Ô Oui! is a rôllicking frôlicker, never saying no to anything even vaguely reminding of mirth, light and verve. And isn't epitomising the very essence of such things with no words spoken one hell of a feat? Ô Oui!...

A little too crisp and sour
Nice, but not for me.

I rather enjoyed the opening of O Oui! which was fresh, slightly boozy (in regards to the vodka note) and pleasantly aquatic.

Unfortunately I found the heart a little unbearable. The pineapple and apple notes were far too dominant, crisp and sour. Just looking at the notes listed in the heart, I cringe thinking of how such strong, definitive notes could ever make an agreeable blend.

Once this has subsided, O Oui! becomes dusty and old-smelling. My Grandmother's house smells like this, and although the scent for me is nostalgic, I'd prefer not to have it on my skin.

The lasting power is not bad, bearing well in hot weather. I advise people to test this first before buying.

If you Like Pina Coladas
'If you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the Rain' reminds me everytime
i smell this Perfume the Pina Colada
song spring into my head. The bright Yellow Lemons and Vodka are very Dominate in this Perfume. i can't Detect the other notes Because ther so
Powerfull and Dominating to me.
Wear this only in the Summertime when it's hot or humid and wear this Lightly this is a strong Perfume.

The reason i'm giving this a 4
Beacuse the Citruses and the Vodka
can be overwhelming.

Mouthwatering summer freshness
Mouthwatering, juicy, fresh, young, perfect summer fragrance. I smelled it on a fellow student in college in early 2000s and had to ask her what she was wearing. Soon, O Oui! was mine, and I used it really fast. I have not repurchased because I moved on to heavier scents, but I think it's a safe blind buy if you enjoy fresh, aquatic fragrances.
