I gave my wife a bottle of
Arpège (1993) Eau de Parfum. It became one of my favourite scents from her extensive collection of perfumes, including some famous fragrances four or five times more expensive.
Longevity and sillage are far above average, and with Arpège she always outshines the other fragrances around her. The white flowers and aldehydes in the top and heart notes are simply magnificent, as are the amber and woody notes in the base.
She is often asked by her friends if she uses
N°5 Parfum... and yes! Lanvin and Chanel perfumes are indeed similar. But Arpège is warmer, deeper and more complex. For me, it is an absolutely beautiful and enchanting fragrance that has the same class and excellent longevity as Number 5. Arpége is not a fragrance for young rebels, but my wife is in her mid-40s and seems much more sensual and elegant with this fragrance than with "whipped cream" or "candy fragrance" perfumes.
So, my recommendation goes to the husbands.... Save a few euros (the beautiful 100ml flask costs €30 ~ €35). If you love your wife, give her a black round bottle of Lanvin's Arpège when the occasion arises.
Good luck!

With all your faults, I still love you
It had to be you
You wonderful one
It had to be you"
