Candied Orange Blossom
I love to explore the wide range of neroli and orange blossom fragrances available, ranging from dark to bright citrus to sweet. Le Couvent de Minimes FLEUR D'ORANGER features, logically enough, orange blossom, not neroli, and is very, very sweet. Candied orange blossoms are the gist of this pleasant and natural-smelling creation, which has some great credentials.

I'm always ready to check out obscure houses from France dating back more than a century. They tend to produce natural-smelling perfumes, and Le Couvent de Minimes is no exception to the rule, having been established in 1862 and specifically focusing on the use of natural plant materials.

I highly recommend this modestly priced sweet orange blossom to anyone who likes By Kilian SWEET REDEMPTION. (On the other hand, if you find that composition too sweet, this one will be too...) To be honest, I cannot think of any reason to pay the By Kilian asking price for that perfume, when this one is available. One difference here is that there is not a notable benzoin note (if any), but to my nose candied orange blossoms are pretty much candied orange blossoms by any other name! If you like those ones, then you'll like these ones--it's almost guaranteed.

No, there is no lock and key, but the lack of hype is made up for by the charming packaging, it seems to me. Plus you can buy the entire line for the price of one By Kilian...
