True of oranges
The initial impression of it is clear, transparent, and bright. It feels like strolling through a citrus orchard bathed in warm sunlight, with green leaves swaying in the shadows. You pluck an orange, peel it, and accidentally cut your nail, releasing overflowing juice.

The top notes are filled with the rich, juicy scent of oranges. As you eat the segments, the aroma of orange peel and orange oil lingers on your fingertips. The white fibers on the orange bring a slightly bitter yet bright and clean scent, leaving a vivid impression of the true essence of oranges.

In the middle and base notes, the vitality of the sunlit oranges diminishes, and both brightness and richness subside. Flowers timely emerge, adding softness to the fragrance. The floral notes are refined, creating layers that are sweet yet fresh. The green, grassy, woody undertones persist throughout, subtly lingering underneath, providing a fresh backdrop that complements the orange.

Overall, it is clean, warm, gentle, and intricately layered yet lightweight. Long-lasting citrus fragrances are rare, making it a unique find in the orange-scented perfume category.

The character associated with this fragrance is someone wearing light-colored attire, with light playing on their skin. When they see you, they reveal a smiling face, gentle and courteous. Not the most conspicuous in a crowd, but as you get closer, you realize their refined taste and approach to life. It seems like no one would be unsuitable for it.

Summer scent
An orange-aromatic citrus fragrance that is far from a traditional chypre.
Although the juicy orange dominates all evolution it is not a linear EDP. It evolves with a complex structure like that of Azemour les Orangers. Although both are masterpieces, Chypre Azural is a far more a modern fragrance than Azemour les Orangers.
A beautiful fragrance with an orange note (super realistic).
It opens with the feeling of someone peeling an orange and feeling the micro droplets projected on your face when you highlight the inner, whitish side of the peel. It is therefore an intense, bright, fresh and green beginning caused by the aromatic note of tarragon.
Unlike many citrus aromas that seem to disappear quickly, the Chypre Azural orange remains evolving on the skin for many hours (about 12 hours).
It evolves slowly but always conferring sophistication and elegance.
After the opening there is a suggestion of wood under the orange; I assume it will be the patchouli that we don´t detect itself as conventional or typical. This note just underlines and expands the orange note which starts to change into something denser.
The Rose note doesn't feel isolated either. It too is subordinated to the orange but giving it a sweet and warm vibe.
Before entering the “drydown” (between the 5th and 6th hour) the ambergris accentuates the golden and soft textural quality. The citrus orange becomes more of an amber orange.
In other words, the fragrance evolves from a fresh and green start to a sweet, soft and warm orange.
This summer we imagine ourselves in the middle of an orange grove feeling the aroma of the juice of the delicious segments of a sweet orange that we bite with pleasure.
My citrus of choice for this summer's holidays.

Aromatic orange
A surprisingly long-lasting citrus that doesn’t smell synthetic. Chypre Azural is a juicy orange all the way through, though it’s missing the zing of squeezing the rind. The herbal tarragon pairs so well with the orange. I’d even say it’s a strict upgrade over Orange Sanguine because it has all the fine details of an orange but adds herbal complexity.

Despite the name, I wouldn’t describe it as a chypre. It’s a nod to the neo-chypres that use patchouli instead of oakmoss, but it’s missing the warm resins I associate with chypres. The patchouli here is clean and aromatic like in Diptyque Tempo, a solid choice as a dirty patch would clash with the brightness of the orange.

If I could only have one citrus fragrance in my collection, it’d be this. Sure, a few other citruses smell better (like Azemour) but I can put on Chype Azural in the morning and not have to worry about the scent immediately disappearing on me.

Fresh orange-amber
A note list that includes the name of a place in every note is a common indicator for houses that are trying too hard to position themselves as "niche". Tunisian orange blossom, Moroccan jasmine auriculatum absolute, Polynesian hibiscus CO2.. you know it.. A transparent attempt to upgrade the product and sound cocky.

Then there is Les Indémodables. They seem to take pride in their use of precious ingredients and take this material show-off to another level.

[quote]
Sicilian Tarocco Orange oil 10%,
Indonesian (Aceh Province) Patchouli oil Grand Cru 5%,
Amber infusion 2%,
Egyptian Centrifolia Rose absolute Grand Cru 1%
Contains Tarragon oil from the Alps

At this point I am not sure whether to find it actually fascinating or just silly. All the more because the end result is a fragrance that fails to impress.

Chypre Azural starts mild and citrusy. Completely orange in color. There is a rosy floral side in this phase, which softens up the orange. Too bad this rose does not last. It soon makes place for a herbaceous note that feels dry and slightly bitter. At the same time the citrusy orange becomes more of an ambery orange. Still it is more 'fresh' than 'oriental'. The scent remains this way until it completely fades out after a good half day.

This orange-amber with a slight bitter touch is "nice" at most. I find the opening the nicest part and the rest simply dull. It did succeed in maintaining a somewhat fresh orange impression for a long time. All in all, nothing to write home about, though.

Slight salty orange with a mild herbal tone. Citrus is surprisingly long lasting and realistic, but not much else going on.

For me it’s a very realistic orange and orange peel, as if I was cleaning oranges. Settles into nice mossy grass, lasts good 8 hours. Like!
