Some Fougere..
Oh, yes!A tuberose fougère, that’s not something you hear about every day, but once you smell it in Fougère Emeraude, it seems like the perfect way to both highlight and steer this floral note in an interesting direction that deconstructs the gender categories a floral or a fougère would ordinarily suggest.
But if you love tuberose, don’t worry, Fougère Emeraude hands it to you in a hefty 15 percent dose, with all of its sweet creaminess and subtle green accents. No waiting in the wings for this one—it gets right down to business at first sniff. It’s supported by a Moroccan mimosa absolute, honeyed and bright, extracted at Les Indémodable’s lab from hand-selected flower buds only — no stems allowed.
Lavender and clary sage add a haunting, aromatic quality to Fougère Emeraude, along with subtle spiciness, while tonka smooths out the entire composition with its comforting facets of vanilla and cinnamon. The care with which each ingredient is sourced and extracted by Les Indémodables is evident, once again in Fougère Emeraude and by the time this rests and dries down on skin, the subtle harmonies among the notes, thanks to perfumer Florence Fouillet Dubois.
In one word, masterpiece!

Misleading the authorities
Overall, I am quite taken with Fougère Emeraude. However, I don't find it that "fougerey": the green is extremely subtle, and the tuberose - which, by the way, isn't fleshy at all but rather slightly waxy - is much less dominant than the powdery-sweet lavender-mimosa-tonka combination. In this respect, the fragrance is completely different from what I had expected. The slight soapiness still reminds me most of a classic Fougère.

But is the fragrance beautiful! Balanced, elegant, flattering and optimistic. The structure is not very dense, the fragrance is not lush, you can wear it anytime. Only unfortunately, it lacks a bit of inner tension and liveliness. I miss the bitter mint of oakmoss or more earthy, leathery notes that would make the fragrance more classic and less adapted-modern. It's already quite uneventful, if undeniably luxurious (and outrageously expensive).

The name also raises false expectations; emerald green is nothing here. The said powdery-white-floral accord has so nothing at all of fern or leaves. After all, you can learn from Wikipedia that the so-called "dash" (so the mineral powder) of emerald is white

Herbaceous tuberose
The name had put me off: Fougeres are not for me! But yes, this Fougere is. The wonderfully creamy tuberose is there from the start. It's kept well in check by the spicy and herbaceous notes that surround it. It comes into its own more and more as the fragrance develops. The herbaceous accents make room for the creamy tuberose without ever completely disappearing

Green floral fougere. Fresh lavender mixed with pollinic mimosa, herbal clary sage, & a pop of citrus zest smoothed over by creamy tuberose.
