Vase of opposites
I'm probably not telling you anything new when I say that I think Enrico Bucella is one of the most interesting perfumers around. With his three fragrance labels Sigilli, Cerchi Nell'Acqua and of course Les Voiles Dépliées, he has boldly demonstrated his olfactory prowess. Most of his compositions are characterized by a decent pound of projection and durability, without overdoing it and yet appearing quite natural. It's a pity that you don't notice anything more from him currently, although I have no idea if he's still active at all, as his websides are unfortunately no longer online at all.
Finally, Potiche has now 10 years on the hump - and so long it is also ago that I had met the master once in person and he impressed me.
This fragrance also has it in itself, whereby he works a little with wonderful contrasts. Potiche begins quite citrusy-sharp, fresh, slightly metallic and edgy with biting bergamot to finally soften little by little and thanks to the sweetish-vanilla heliotrope and some lilac along with mimosa to open the floral round to then dive towards the end with musk and another tip vanilla in the powdery velvety soft.
This is definitely pleasant, but somehow more for ladies than for men. But this twist of contrasts from the cool metallic in the warmth is already remarkable. Finally, Potiche can also score with said projection and durability. Perhaps one of the few citrus-floral powder fragrances that can also be worn in summer ... At the time, in any case, exceptional - and perhaps currently still.
