Witch's brew
Sleepily my tired look creeps out of a dim black corner of a dingy cedar wood hut, where I lie in dancing shadows, towards the green glow, the glowing pot, the smouldering mists, the quietly blowing figure with the robe and the knotty bony features.
'Birch tar and herbal decoctions - There is witch's brood in the brew'
She speaks without moving her lips, as she peppers different herbs into the bubbling percolate to make veils of different colours glow softly, sometimes mentholated light, sometimes greenish bitter, sometimes olive sweetish earthy, the sparks flicker in front of her face, from whose furry leathery skin again and again greasy black beads of sweat from birch tar seep into the brew.
'Patchouly and benzoin in - So thou wilt be weighted with me'
Amber-coloured benzoin, medically resinous, sweetly leathery smelling, bubbling through the greenish glowing herbal blood in black pulsating birch-tar veins into the old earth of the wooden barrack. Was there a forest somewhere here, a world outside the oil-shaped witch's hut on my skin? I close my eyes for a few quiet hours, a little bit enchanted maybe
