The wind on Burrows porch
Burrow sat on a porch in Kansas and cut up his thoughts from roots and grass. And with no one left to randomly glue the microscopic mishmash back together, everything now swirled seemingly weightlessly in the warm wind, blowing wave after wave of roots brightly peppery herbs along with dusty earth, turmeric and cumin into Burrow's face, a weightless drifting carpet, ethereal and aromatic.
Burrow moved his lips, forming tonka and peat and cedar needles, lemon smoke and clouds of dates, and breathed them onto the wood of the porch. It was all woven together in the summer winds of the Southern states, sometimes sharp and earthy, sometimes sweeter and creamy, that blew through Burrow's garden.
