My Final Blind Buy of a Pink Perfume
Lilly Pulitzer WINK opens with a rather unpleasant blast of alcohol. It is rare to encounter a so-called eau de parfum where the dominant top note is alcohol, but it is in this one, which immediately called to my mind the BBW body sprays. Body sprays, not edts or edps...
After the alcohol evaporates away to some extent, WINK is pink. I'm starting to think that pink perfumes should have their own category because there are so many of them, and they smell so similar to one another because they all feature vague and abstract flowers. Peony and freesia facsimiles tend to loom large.
WINK is definitely my least favorite of the Lilly Pulitzer trio, and I am now considering a moratorium on any more blind buys of pink perfumes! Désolée.
