A manly perfume - my LV favourite
It has a strong opening with notes of oud and saffron, which makes it very noticeable, this is a perfume for somebody who likes to do things its own way and is not afraid to disturb a person or two. It is very long lasting and you do not need to reapply during the day.

It reminds a bit of Ombre Nomade at first, but this one is more complex and easier to wear due to the beautiful leather note, cocoa and patchouli which are coming to life in dry-down.
To me this smells very unique and manly and if you will wear this, for sure there is no risk that someone else would smell the same.

It is very versatile and can be worn on all occasions, but do not use more than two sprays because it is projecting very strong.
This is another great creation from Jaques Cavallier and like I said already, I really like the direction of LV Perfumes.

Fraudulent labelling
Nouveau Monde smells expensive. Very expensive. Well, not expensive scented oils and elaborate scent compositions. But expensive in the sense of expensive Porsche with leather seats, expensive leather jacket, expensive handbag.

Common to the abovementioned associated goods: leather goods. Admittedly, not with many Louis Vuitton handbags, but that's not the point here.

And for me this is also the core component of the fragrance. As is often the case with Louis Vuitton without being listed in the fragrance pyramid. An interesting idea (I'm sure this didn't happen accidentally), as a tribute to the roots of the house.

However, this is what leads to the fact that one also likes to attach a wrong expectation to a scent. I am an avowed lover of oud and also an avowed lover of gourmet fragrances (cocoa). This symbiosis seemed quite promising to me and so I sprayed some sprays from my sample in joyful expectation.

However, I did not receive the promised oud cocoa DNA, but instead a slightly aquatic-salty leather scent. Yes, I can detect slight hints of cocoa and absolutely enigmatic oud. But in the main it is simply a salty leather scent. It's not bad at all. It's quite something. But why does this "gimmick" reminder of the house's tradition have to be so present that it has to destroy the entire ambition and creative idea of this fragrance?

This could have been something very own and very special. In two ways. Because one would have - instead of realizing the creative fragrance pyramid - simply forgotten the alibi fragrance pyramid completely and instead
can release a fragrance a la "Essence d' Louis Vuitton." With the only scent "Louis Vuitton bag" This would have been a guaranteed success - without one the transfiguration of a great and creative fragrance composition.

I'm rather annoyed by this overall and don't know what it's all about. Cheers

The Louis Vuitton purse DNA in a bottle...
If my Louis Vuitton handbag had DNA that could be put into a bottle in the form of liquid, the result would be Nouveau Monde!

I even imagine that I have tasted this fragrance in many rooms of LV boutiques? Is it possible that this scent is used to create a connection to the handbags? If so, then this has succeeded with me in any case...LV Love...*grins*

But now to the fragrance:
Although there is no leather in the fragrance pyramid, I smell a very, very fine leather at first, which hides a sweet currant! The best leather scent I have ever smelled!
Since in this case it's probably the oud note that plays the leading role, a very big praise must be given to the perfumer at this point... Because combining an oud so well and making it wearable is a great art! At least, that's how I see it... :)

Why it is declared as a men's fragrance is not clear to me, because I see it rather as a unisex fragrance... I - female - would wear it with great pleasure... I have also already decided that this gem will be added to my collection :)
However, if I had to describe a man wearing this fragrance, I would say the following:
Man in a suit, in a very expensive suit, slightly arrogant look, works as CEO for an Italian luxury brand ... :) Cheers!

Greetings
An LV fan

An Oud - Scent like no other
Admittedly, I was amazed at first after reading the scents.
Oud was the least of my expectations.

The fragrance starts off beautifully, others would say pungent, beautiful Louis Vuitton leather notes.
Indian spices are added, which round off the whole thing very well and make it shine.

This leather-spice complex must probably be the Assam oud. Because a kind of animalism is spreading, which is very expressive, but still remains discreetly in the background.
A scent gradient does not exist, so to speak, but it is still very special.

A really nice niche fragrance.

Departure to new Oud shores
The fragrance was described here as spicy leathery and in the pyramid stand cocoa, saffron and oud. I had imagined a heavy men's leather scent with gourmand hints. That's why I didn't take part in the sharing and thought: "He's not for me anyway".
Niklas1993 I owe it now that I got to know the smell nevertheless. And lo and behold: Nouveau Monde smells completely different than you thought: Yes, cocoa, but not gourmandig, but fresh. Definitely oud, but no stinkiness. Makes a strong leather impression, whose intensity is loosened up by discreetly blowing aquatic notes.
Now the "old hands" here on Parfumo have surely smelled a thousand aquatic oud scents, but for me this experience was new and very successful.
The fragrance has a good shelf life and is quite suitable for women.

The big litter
Indian Oud, wild and animalistic is not everyone's cup of tea. Whenever it is in the game, the corresponding comments come from fecal etc. Amazingly, however, not at Nouveau Monde.
Because here the perfumer managed to cultivate this oud in a wonderful way.
Cocoa makes Indian oud suitable for the masses without suppressing its unique beauty. Yes it complements it even perfectly.

Such combinations are unique, it's just the big litter that you might only land once in your life or never. Instead of fecal, suddenly there are comments about leather. But I am very sure that there is no leather included here, but this unique combination which has not existed before.

So if you think that Indian Oud has been too barnyard you can enjoy this wonderful fragrance without thinking about the stable.

It's as ingenious as the idea of mixing a cocktail with Tahin, but that's another story.
In any case, Nouveau Monde is an ingenious Mesister work.

I don't see Onekh as a twin but as a preliminary stage, the Laotian oud used there has a completely different character. I rather think that through further work on the idea, this ingenious combination was created.

A warm and dry, slightly leathery, oriental spicy-woody Fall fragrance, with a gently animalic, yet rather bright, smoky spicy-green opening

A citrusier, fruitier Ombre Nomade which, as it develops, strongly hints at Aventus. LV's acquiescence to the 'new world' of male fragrance.

This is similar to Ombre Nomade, very dark and mysterious with Oud and Cocoa. It develps really nice with patchouli, a very special scent!

Luxurious Oud-Cocoa. A bit leathery. Could imagine LV scents their store with it. Very unique. More for experienced noses. Great Performance
