Earth patch vanilla and nothing else..
Or was there cotton candy?
I happened to discover a LUSH store near me, which was the perfect invitation to finally try a few of the currently very hyped LUSH products.
I still have memories of colorful bath bombs and glittery soaps with extremely artificial aromas, where I had to leave the store after half an hour at the latest with a sudden migraine attack (although I don't normally suffer from migraines at all) Well this time it wasn't much different for me but I still had a few nice things in my shopping bag, one of which was the beautiful body spray Lord of Misrule Body Spray The fragrance starts typically LUSH, screaming and artificial as you know it from LUSH. But this is also where the magic starts, if you give the fragrance time to settle down.
Right at the beginning I smell real earth, but in a light, non-musty patchouli typical earth accord. This is immediately joined by a cotton candy-like sweet vanilla, and a green peppery freshness in the undertone makes the fragrance seem really lively.
This patch of vanilla lasts for hours and is fun to sniff.
The radiance is what surprises me. This body spray can guarantee a very good sillage, but the fragrance is considerably more balanced and sophisticated than it is perceived on the skin when sniffed directly.
The fragrance actually exudes floral patchouli, much more mature and rounded than expected and with time, in the DD and on clothing, it appears more and more beautiful, softer and of higher quality than at the beginning of the session.
It is my first "beautiful DD fragrance" where I can hardly wait for the drydown because I know that from that moment on I will have a beautiful fragrance for hours. And when I say hours, I really mean all day long because this fragrance has, puhhh, really sitting meat...
I can only recommend to test the fragrance for this price, if you like sweet patchoulis and if it gets too much on the skin, it still gives a wonderful room fragrance spray.
However, we do have that typical artificial sauna oil aftertaste that comes with all LUSH products. This is a matter of personal taste, and here it doesn't bother me as long as I only wear the fragrance when I really feel like it.
The dosage also plays an important role here in order to avoid headaches and nausea: less is more.
For me, it suits all ages, and I see it more on ladies. For very young girls, it could seem vintage because of the dominant patchouli, but the vanilla makes it so light again that it seems more vintage than old-fashioned.
All in all, a beautiful fragrance that I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun with.
And what about you? Do you have a few LUSHs on your perfume wish list?
Thank you for reading my review and best regards
