Spices, herbs... and all sorts of other good things...
I had never smelled, read or heard of this brand before. A visit to TK MAXX and the price prompted me to buy this fragrance "on the side". Since curiosity is sometimes greater than reason for me too (my COLLECTION!!!), this had to be done.
The perfume is of high quality. Everything is very long-lasting and versatile, hardly any "synthetics".
At the beginning, there is a spice and herb melange carried by lavender, which has a slightly oriental-exotic feel. Sometimes the coriander peeks out cheekily, sometimes the cardamom, the slightly bitter mugwort remains as a gentle shadow, sometimes above, sometimes below.
A rather "grainy-sandy" cinnamon then "sneaks in" among the herbs, becoming more and more present, together with neroli. It even dominates for a while. At this stage, the fragrance is reminiscent of other "winter fragrances", such as "D & G" or "Joop", but not quite as sweet.
After three or four hours, the base opens up further "oriental" windows with tart (vetiver, sandalwood) and opulent woody notes, which linger for a few more hours before slowly fading away.
A mixture of sweet, bittersweet, spicy, tart, woody... like a slow ride through different landscapes. Consistently interesting with little surprises :-))

This perfume is an outrage!
For all intents and purposes, things are going pretty damn weird with Maddox & Mills' "Lucky Liquid."

How on earth is it possible to offer such a high quality smelling fragrance for under 5 euros?
Why can durability/silage keep up with the big boys?
Why do both the packaging and the bottle feel so valuable?

Questions about questions!

Many of us probably remember with horror earlier times.
What was offered there at "perfumes" with at best WC fragrance quality in the lowest price segment went on no cowhide.
There was so many an "ocean-fresh" CFC toilet bomber olfactory better positioned.

But what am I babbling about old times. It's 2021 and the world has improved in many ways.
Fortunately, also in perfumes.

But now let's get to the happy liquid from M&M (hihi).

What an opening. Initially, there is still a little emotional chaos here.
Especially when the 18 year old Filius permanently with "1 million" strolls through the area.

Because in the direction goes "Lucky Liquid" initially. But that passes quite quickly.
After about 5 minutes, develops a fruity freshness, which is never squeaky or even cheesy.
Quite the opposite, the EdT remains stock serious but not boring, it seems sweet / covered but not stuffy.

Honestly, I have to admit that bergamot is not discernible to me (which personally doesn't bother me at all)

The comparison to "Le Male" forces itself formally.
A soft lavender bouquet is omnipresent, the cardamom, which I love from Chai tea remains background, but does not hide.

The durability is truly a splendor. One office day one comes through with it, in the last 2 hours, however, he flattens.
The projection is crazy, since Lucky Liquid is in no way inferior to the big ones.

May be that my review sounds like ne advertising event.
Is me but wurscht, such a price / performance monster can only be recommended.
Without a guilty conscience!

Simply just outrageously good!

Yeah, fits.
With this fragrance DM has in my opinion a good value for money snapper in its program. The price for a drugstore fragrance is of course completely ok. But what you get for your money is definitely worth seeing, uh sorry smell. You can't expect an explosion of fragrance and a creative revelation, but what you sniff is pretty neat. According to the scent pyramid you should be able to smell mugwort and cinnamon bark, well and if I knew what that smell was, I could confirm it or not. Cinnamon bark smells like cinnamon, or what? Then I didn't notice it and I only know mugwort from our dog :-) Lavender and orange blossom I can confirm. And if what is ringing out at the back of your nose is cardamom, then the statement in the pyramid of scents is also true. I find the slightly flowery fresh scent quite pleasant at the beginning, after that it gets a bit more depth, "more eggs" and becomes drier and oriental. Personally, I would have liked to have even more sandalwood and musk here. The durability is probably due to the price...with me everything was gone after 4 hours. But all in all, a decent smell for in between... Although there are scents "for in between" ? If so, then this scent is definitely one

Discovery in drugstore shelf
When I bought some banal things at DM the other day, I took a look at the fragrance shelf again. The fragrance assortment is rather clearly arranged, but every now and then I allow myself the one or other sniff From strange to remarkable, everything is always there. But I am not one of those people who mock and reject the cheap fragrances from the drugstore shelf from the outset. And some beautiful fragrance classics have indeed been wrongly promoted to the very bottom.
I noticed two fragrances of the new brand Maddox and Mills, Tough Tonic and Lucky Liquid In the end I took Lucky Liquid with me and I did not regret the purchase, especially since the purchase did not tear a huge hole in my wallet.

One should not expect a revolutionary exciting new fragrance creation here. Here no new and mysterious fragrance essences are brewed into an extravagant or avant-garde whole.
But what comes out of the sprayer smells very pleasant.

After a somewhat alcoholic start, Lucky Liquid appears spicy with a certain sweetness.
A light note of lavender and some bergamot appear, but I can already smell the sweetness of tonka, which lingers well throughout the fragrance. Cardamom and coriander add a light spice.
After a while the scent is quite creamy, a little bit of floral also comes into play. There I notice the orange blossom clearly (I encounter it again and again in fragrances I like, even if I should repeat myself there).
I can still detect a hint of cinnamon but not too strong.
Later on it gets a little bit woodier and warmer. This sweet creaminess remains throughout the whole process.
The fragrance is not heavy or obtrusive overall.
The bottle is quite appealingly designed, a little bit vintage made, lies well in the hand and the sprayer is excellent.
Similarities to Gaultier2 are given here. I can neither confirm nor deny this now, I don't know Gaultier2.

The shelf life is not breathtaking, after 5 hours at the latest it is over and Lucky Liquid does not radiate too much. I didn't expect a durability and Sillagemonster here now either.
By the way, I don't think the fragrance is only suitable for men, ladies can also use it without any worries. But anyway, I think that one should not pay so much attention to the categorization. Many a men's fragrance works very well on ladies anyway. It can also work the other way round
Whether I will buy Lucky Liquid a second time, I do not know yet. For here and now I like it very much.
Maybe there are more nice fragrances coming from the brand.

As an avid perfume tester, I don't just look to the top, let alone the price. A look to the left and right as well as sometimes down can never hurt. Especially since I am hardly prepared to pay huge sums for fragrances. To add a net cold rent for a scent in order to have to eat toast with mayonnaise for weeks does not correspond to my realistic thinking and I do not have a cash cow in the cellar. And maybe this scent is not even really suitable for everyday use. By the way, everyday life is negatively affected in the slightest way.
Some people see it differently and think that only the niche with the most niche is really good for something and the more expensive a fragrance is and the wackier it smells, the better and more exclusive. But that is left to everyone to decide for themselves I have always felt comfortable with the mass market and will continue to do so. Even though there are some extraordinary and exciting fragrances in this niche.
But snootiness and pigeonhole thinking have always been suspicious and strange to me.

Yes, the often discussed topic niche.... This fragrance is also a niche for me. How? What? Hä?
Yeah, I took it from an alcove on the shelf!
Everybody is allowed to create his own niche ;-)
