The Sauvage Trap
I think the comparison with Sauvage leads us a bit on the wrong track, because CRAFTSMAN actually wants to go somewhere else. For me it is a fresh and green herbaceous, by no means old-fashioned fragrance, which remains true to the tradition of the brand. Before the test you should maybe think about the Tabac Man, which is a little bit outdated now, then the disappointment will hopefully stay away.

When sprayed on, citric and peppery notes predominate, and these are also the obvious parallels to Sauvage. The actual body, however, consists rather of rose geranium and lavender - at the latest I don't want to compare both scents with each other anymore. In the base note a not excessive sweetness is added, probably the tonka bean.

CRAFTSMAN is oriented to the top notes of modern mainstream perfumes like the one mentioned above and thus appears modern for the first time in the quick test, but unfolds a male character in the further course through his relaxed herbaceousness, which can't really be called classic, but is quite serious and somehow also well-sustained. Highly conspicuous and all too loud appearance is not possible with this men's fragrance. But there are other things for that, too.

After all, this green framework makes sure that he escapes the dreaded D-classification (D like shower gel) - you know, that's the maximum penalty for Parfumo at the moment! In my opinion, a paper strip test is much too short here, because you can't get far beyond the top note.

The potential wearer of the CRAFTSMAN could be, for example, a well-groomed, not negligent or old-fashioned, but also not like a vain, middle-aged man dressed as a dude, who has always used After Shave after the daily electric shave and only enters a perfumery when he wants to give a nice person a present. Your own scented water should smell good, but you shouldn't whine for attention either.

Recently I discovered in a big supermarket the complete care series of the four currently available TABAC fragrances side by side and on top of each other: Tabac Original, Gentle Men's Care, Tabac Man & Fire Power.
Actually very beautiful and also somehow sympathetic. Obviously, Mäurer & Wirtz consider quite carefully to whom/how/where the products are offered.

I liked that so much that I bought the deodorant stick from the CRAFTSMAN. By the way, it stays in this sauvage-like note and for this purpose I like it quite well, just like the counterpart of TABAC MAN. By the way, Mrs. Stulle also noticed once again that it smells pretty good. And that means something!

Again short:
a typical fragrance of the TABAC line, but fresher and more modern at the beginning. If you're looking for an exact copy of Sauvage, you're wrong here. If you want a modern, green spicy and reservedly sweet men's fragrance at a budget price: go for it!

A perfectly normal conformist
What is the problem for all the people here who talk about it being a bad Sauvage clone? Admittedly, some Sauvage DNA is already present, but he is miles away from a clone. It simply follows the current Sauvage trend and nevertheless has a largely independent character. I like it!

What Mäurer & Wirtz has created here is simply a new care series for the man who is too old-fashioned for Tabac Original, too sweet for Tabac Manfire Power and too androgynous for Tabac Gentle Men's Care. I mean, which manufacturer still today produces a complete care set of a fragrance and that in such a quality and such a price? And that's Made in Germany, too!

When I tested it today, the rest of it looked familiar to me next to the Sauvage DNA. Then I knew which fragrance came to my mind, Jean Paul Gaultier's Kokorico. For me Tabac Original Craftsman smells like a cross of 20% Sauvage, 60% Kokorico and the remaining 20% have their own character. I recommend "L'oreal Hydra Sensitive Birch Juice Shower Gel" to those who want a cheaper shower gel, because it also comes very close to the scent.

All in all it is a really pleasant clean man scent for everyday life and not a real panty dropper for the evening, but I also believe that it was never the intention of Mäurer & Wirtz to bring something big out here, but simply to bring out a pleasant everyday scent for today's young man, which they succeeded in doing

Be a first-rate edition of yourself, not a second-rate from someone else. Judy Garland
Being like the other guy is not a good idea. Something similar to appear also not recommended. It makes more sense to appear completely different. This also applies to this craftsman.
Unfortunately the old amphora is already a bit dusty and stands completely alone in the corner which doesn't interest many people anymore, which is tragic and unfortunate, but with the long lasting sweet and aquatic trend not a sudden new phenomenon. That's why they decided on a renovation and asked a craftsman who knows what he wants to keep the packaging, but has the aim to deliver the novelty inside.
It is not easy to say goodbye to the old, the pepper is still very spicy and can be regarded as a reference point for the white Eau de Cologne.
This appears long after the flowery appearance, which the craftsman first lets appear as a florist.
These rose geraniums and the lavender are strong and dominate the first construction phase strongly.
The grapefruit with bergamot is too weak to stop the floral notes. Also the pepper after that is really very possessive. Despite all calls of Sauvage, this gray is not a gray mouse, but stands out pleasantly from the Ambrox water like Sauvage and others.
It's a mystery how to interpret such scents.
The durability is better than expected, the note strongly reminds of Carbone of Balmain, but only from the third part of this story with memory of old heydays. From here on it becomes qualitatively much better and he starts to like it.
Another explanation for this fragrance is when an acquaintance who doesn't care about fragrances has been walking around with the same Boss Orange fragrance for years and only wears his Boss Jeans or Chinos as a crowning glory, suddenly wants to know after thirteen years what a fragrance product this is. He can't be so bad in this logic, the other way around you can always explain the world the way you want to see it. What is worth mentioning, however, is that this product does not cost more than a hundred, not more than fifty francs or euros, but only thirty. A fair gesture from the manufacturer, who also makes many good things, which do not all have to be overpriced. The Baldessari line extra disregarded, since one cannot always understand the prices there compared to the quality.
Returning to the grey craftsman, he continues to educate himself pleasantly and gets the nögite wisdom and serenity towards the end.
The beginning is too spectacular to be very mature and calm afterwards. This can be said of the few fragrances that play for the annual league maintenance in this district class.
Most of them descend after one or two unsuccessful seasons and are rejected.
Here Mäurer & Wirtz is a pleasant example, which does not follow every trend unsuccessfully. If they do, then they do not have ultranervous marketing cracks in their ranks that hide their own failure by pushing 12 novelties per brand and brand onto the market and thus making the search for a signature absolutely impossible.
Mäurer & Wirtz seems to give their products a real chance on the market. That's why we like to surprise you with more surprises which are not a second-class appearance of something else but a first-class variant of your own product.
Thus, the craftsman has fulfilled and there will certainly be no rework necessary.
Unless you bring the Craftsman intense, cologne, del mar or cool force.

A new hero of Tabac Original
I already had the chance to test it in Düsseldorf with the Duftstars, a really successful counterpart to the old original, so if you don't like the old one so much, then try it! Very durable, the silage was to be rich still in the evening clearly!

Sauvage for "poor"
A basically beautiful fragrance that can be had for very little money. The comparison to Dior Sauvage EdT is not to be dismissed out of hand. The opening is already quite similar. After that, however, Tabac Craftsman quickly flattens out. He goes a little more in the citrus direction than the original Sauvage, spicy notes are but skin close also perceptible.

For a drugstore fragrance around the 7€ this is a super dupe! Beautiful opening and pleasant to wear during sports, in the morning after shaving or if you do not want to smell conspicuous for a long time. The sillage and the durability are of course mediocre, but at the price you can definitely spray more often and must not be stingy

I really have no idea why people here claimed this has moderate performance. Projection and Durability are the worst ever. Wow,
