Refreshing Woods

Beautiful, clean, and refreshing woods that have a light spice which I find to be revitalizing when I get a whiff. I prefer it most out of the shower/part of an at home evening routine rather than something I’d go out in, although I’ve worn it to work as well.

I understand where the pickle comments are coming from, and only find that to be an issue if I overspray. I had to take a break from it for a while after over wearing it, leading me to be too sensitive to it. Be careful not to overspray. Now that my nose has “reset,” I’ll be enjoying this much more often after an evening shower.

Russian pickle water?

At least that's what my sister said when she first smelled the scent on me.
While searching for a Santal 33 Dupe I came across this fragrance whose name sounds as promising as the composition of the scents.

It is above all the sandalwood that makes the fragrance so attractive and at the same time familiar. The spices give the fragrance a herbal note, which always remains subtle and balanced.

The fragrance doesn't have a strong sillage, but I don't think it needs to. It is perfect for cozy hours, or for the gentle breeze when passing by. It arouses curiosity & it proves itself even at high temperatures. In a stuffy, dark bar at carnival where it was so crowded that there was no back and forth, this scent was terrific and was praised several times.

No.04 - Bois de Balincourt can do more than cucumber water!

Gentle Dupe to Santal 33

This perfume is a dream!
For me it's really a great alternative to Santal 33, the fragrance definitely has the Santal 33 DNA, but still stands out for its gentleness.

To the fragrance:

For me, the woods together with the amber have something of papyrus, therefore perhaps the similarity to Santal 33.
The sandalwood is ultra creamy. Vetiver makes the woody fragrance a little greener. I also notice the spices, they make the fragrance almost delicious, but are not too strong. Everything stays in balance.
The nice thing is that the famous dill note of Santal 33 is not present here. So this could be something for many people for whom Santal 33 was too much.

Shelf life/silage:

The durability is unfortunately the shortcoming. It only lasts for 2h.

The Sillage is very very weak and with such a great scent this is really unfortunate.

Conclusion:

The smell is a dream! A gentle dupe to Santal 33, without a dill note, but unfortunately also with poor durability/silage. Maybe a nice bed scent for autumn/winter?
