Is that how the Amber Room sniffs?
I had already told in some comments about the small perfumery Maison de Parfum Berry in Rouen, France. I haven't been there personally yet, but I still find it fascinating that you can buy their self-created fragrances both on the spot and on their homepage. There's indeed something highly exclusive about it.
And the perfumes are also excellently made. Ambre 35 is no exception, but you would think of Amber first because of the name - but you are surprised: there is nobody in it. This is about amber ... as the bottle symbolizes in colour.
However, the legendary Amber Room would certainly not sniff so much, rather a kind of dark Amber Cathedral in which the light could shine honey-warm inside. And in that one, as in Amber 35, it would only creak so loudly with old balsam-coated wood, which has turned deep dark brown over the centuries due to tons of resinous incense. Sometimes one thinks that one can hardly see one's hand in front of the loud smoke or hardly get air to breathe.
In the midst of it, lovely notes in the form of red roses and red berries nestle as a contrast. The fragrance is extremely concentrated, very dense and anything but light-footed. There is hardly any room for vanilla to assert itself, at least not in the first few hours, but towards the end after a felt eternity, because the durability is exorbitant.
In short: what is offered here is not without it. For those who like it extremely resinous and smoky as well as heavy wood and like to display it olfactorily, Ambre 35 is certainly an option. The rest may marvel or set off in search of the Amber Room.
