Vintage vibes and reminders
I enter the somewhat dusty room, through whose closed wooden shutters the sun shines and gives the room a very special aura. Grandma greets me warmly with her frail voice, hobbles towards me and embraces me in her gnarled, frail arms. I have to lean down towards her, as she has become so small that even I, at 1.60 m, tower over her by two heads.
"Hello grandma, nice to see you. Mmm, you smell good again today," I greet her. As always, she replies with "Hello child, you've widened again" and smiles. "No, Grandma, you've gotten smaller again," I reply. "Yes, yes, I know, child, I know." I loved her, this quaint old woman. For many years I always spent the school vacations with her, I have many memories and a lot of joy associated with her... and her scent. She always smelled of soap and Woman.

This fragrance is proof that inexpensive fragrances don't necessarily have to be bad. Marbert Woman is an elegant classic, a perfume that smells so high-quality that you could be forgiven for thinking you're wearing an expensive Chanel. Yes, it has vintage vibes, but it manages to keep the balance, not to appear dusty or even old-fashioned. It always conveys a very sophisticated elegance to me.
The top notes are delicately citrusy, but quickly transform into a warm, woody fragrance framed by a green rose geranium. Delicately spicy wisps of incense drift in between, jasmine is discreetly in the background, sometimes in the foreground. The base is very warm, spicy and pleasant; tonka with woods, minimal floral nuances and subtle wisps of smoke. I don't perceive it as a pure oriental, rather as a classic women's fragrance with slight oriental undertones. It doesn't fill the room or take over, but is more of an understated, enveloping scent, like being wrapped in a cocoon. I cannot understand comparisons with retro sun cream. It doesn't smell like sunscreen to me at all. But it is similar to Jil Sander Woman, which no longer exists.
For me, Marbert Woman has great nostalgic value. It is the fragrance that evokes memories, makes me reminisce about my youth and makes me think back fondly to my grandma.
