I can't make a rhyme out of that
I toyed a little with the idea of actually writing my commentary as haiku, that is, the traditional Japanese poem form consisting of three word groups of 5-7-5 sound units.
However, I quickly got away from it again, because on the one hand I would probably have taken a long time for it and on the other hand the information content on the fragrance would have been much too short.
So I prefer to do it quite conventionally, whereby Bois d´Hinoki does not necessarily release so much motivation to make creative flights of fancy. It is just a nice fresh greenish eau de parfum with an initial reference to the citric-floral. Thus also the Hinokiholz comes a little to the validity, which smells likewise quite citrically.
What I like less and what I can't make sense of is the presence of the fig. It is fine, natural and relatively discreet - but a bit too dominant in relation to the Hinoki who gave it its name.
In the small finale it then sits down with the softness of benzoin and light cedar wood.
Otherwise, Bois d´Hinoki with his Japanese attitude fits extraordinarily well to a subtle and delicate theme like haiku. But when it comes to figs, many are likely to be out again.
