The sweet-fresh pepperflower mill
Fleur de Sansho means nothing other than Szechuan pepper blossom and is consequently also a component of this eau de parfum of the Haiku trilogy by Masaki Matsushima. Unfortunately, I have almost no personal experience with this flower and can't contribute anything to the theme of presence and authenticity.
And in spite of the pepper that is still listed, this creation as a whole does not come across as spicy or hot as one might fear or possibly hope. No, Fleur de Sansho is really a very floral fragrance with the additional pleasant aroma of angelica, citrus bergamot, fruity orange blossom and fresh woody cedar. All in all, this is very sweet and summery, sometimes a bit too feminine but still declarable as unisex.
There are no big developments, twists or surprises, the fragrance is too clear and well-behaved for that, but still with a conscience spark of sophistication. It is difficult to interpret whether this is the combination of Szechuan pepper blossom with Szechuan pepper. Nevertheless, Fleur de Sansho has its fine magic and convinces with poetic contours - reserved but still setting the tone and extremely likeable.
Two points are still quite interesting in the margin: on the one hand, there were always veils of scent that came through while wearing it, which partly reminded of Terre d'Hermès.
On the other hand, I have noticed that Fleur de Sansho from the Haiku trilogy is offered at 79 € for 80 ml, a little more expensive than the other two EdPs at 66 €.
